If Southampton average half a point more than us in every remaining game we will still finish above them. Every time we win the points difference per game needed will go up even if they also win. They were lucky against WBA at home last game. Every stat was against them. They recently lost to Millwall. They need better form than we've had so far just to have a chance. Just playoff form should be enough to get us over the line.In all likelihood, and this is just common sense speaking, we will be overtaken by the likes of Southampton, Ipswich and Middlesborough if we don’t strengthen the team in January.

Of the teams likely to be in relegation trouble, Wednesday should already be relegated when we play them, and we have Portsmouth and Oxford at home.
