Despite all the flak Austin takes, I think our recruitment is bordering on exceptional. I can't think of a Championship team that's recruited better in recent years.

Yes they have. They will comfortably stay up and I don’t disagree. They have paid a pretty penny to do so. They can afford to do that, but also that’s why it’s not particularly impressive.

You'd argue the money they've spent they should be doing more than just saying up

Its pennys to them. Them spending £20m is the equivalent of us spending £1m in that first season up

Mayenda in particular an excellent pick up.

Chris Rigg a very good academy player. Isidor and Ballard too - the latter I think is a poor footballer but excellent defender.

Tbh their academy supplements the recruitment in a way ours doesn't. Hopefully that's something we can start to catch up on.

Yes of course, but annoyingly it doesn’t really matter if they only achieve the bare minimum this season and none of their players have resale value.

Their recruitment doesn’t have to be smart at all. Could be your nan playing football manager with a cheat code to unlock extra finances.

I can see Wrexham challenging for the playoffs. Brum will improve when their awful manager gets sacked

You still don't want to fill your squad with overpaid middling Championship players if you want to kick on though, not easy to move on if you want to try and take the next step.

That’s it Parks, that’s why I just cannot be impressed by it. I don’t hate them per se. I just think their “online” fans need to wind it in regarding their recruitment - they’ve done nothing impressive.

They can be happy kicking the can down the road for a couple of seasons with proven championship players, improve their facilities and infrastructure then start planning for their next future I guess. Similar to what we did if we had infinite money and didn’t recruit good players for relatively cheap with decent resale value!

They are more likeable than Birmingham and I understand why it might be interesting to some, unlike Birmingham. That's about all the positives I have for it really.

A fine way of doing things. Not sure what a couple of midtable finishes does for the product though. Not too exciting for the yank audience.

Chris Davies stands on the touchline with a constant vacant expression on his face. He is utterly out of his depth

Hopefully they fuck back off to watching the Timbers or whatever else the US teams are. The pirates? I don’t know, I’m just guessing now.

You've got Dykes and Moore as the strikers for either side. Tells you all need about these two teams.

Turns out spunking £30 million in league one to overpower the likes of Burton Albion wasn't quite the tactical masterclass everyone thought.

Birmingham don’t play to Dykes strengths though. Pointless him being on the pitch. They pass it backwards and sideways and get no crosses in

Blues have had 2 shots on target which is more then their last 3 away games put together. Baby steps for 'the project'.

Watched their opening game against Ipswich and thought they’d be an exciting team to watch. They’ve been wank ever since. And they’ve scored.
