Not convinced they ever fully owned Philogene so not sure how much of this transfer fee Hull will see. Seemed to be a strange old pals act between the Villa owner and the Hull owner.

Agreed, i don't think Hull will see all of that £18 million at all, and they have so much to do... all those loans gone, Tufan gone back to Turkey, Philogene and Greaves off... almost as fucked as Sheffield United.

It’s insane the amount of money Ipswich are throwing around. People up and down the country acting like their promotion was a fairytale story and all.

£20 million for Liam Delap is ridiculous.

Getting on a bit now I’d say. I’m not sure I’d be happy if we signed him.

BBC reporting Villa have a buy back. Multi club ownership is against the rules isn't it?

No idea how he has 3 clubs willing to pay £18m for him, seems very very steep.

Sounds like Chris Willock is off to Cardiff. Another free agent who I'd suggest probably hasn't had the offers he thought he might get.

£18m for Philogene agreed now.

Also, I know it's not championship but Ipswich have also agreed a £20m fee for Liam Delap. Good player but seems steep after only 8 goals last season.

Ipswich are close to signing Hull star Jaden Philogene and Manchester City striker Liam Delap.

Yeah you reckon? But it’s Ipswich buying him from Man City. Surely they aren’t all in on this and wasting funds to help eachother out… Ipswich have only just gone up so I can’t imagine them saying yeah no worries Man City I’ll help get you out of trouble when I’m likely to go down.

But the rest of it stinks and feels like collusion

If Delap is 20m then Simms is 35m minimum, much better player maybe thats why we’ve had no offers for him too expensive, come on mr negotiator money balls doug get us 15m for Jamie Allen

Every year a team comes down and everyone says how fucked they are only for them to be absolutely fine and make a ton of decent signings.

They look potentially very strong. I wouldn't be surprised if they win the title.

Sheffield Utd? They look absolutely terrible! I mean see who they bring in but they've only got about 13 players and most of them are rubbish.

That could and probably will all change very rapidly if and when the takeover goes through. It looks as if they have a few deals lined up for when it does.

Then I'll judge them on the business they may or may not do. But at the moment they are a mess and Wilder is a dinosaur.

Calum Chambers joins Cardiff on a free. Decent signing on paper. Hasn’t played that much for Villa mind.

Looking by the transfer activity so far we seem in decent nick, though still needing to add up front and CM/CB. Not happy with the left back situation but clearly we’ll go in with what we’ve got there.

Bristol City apparently closing on Sinclair Armstrong. Very raw still but would have been an interesting option as a back up striker

Just came on here to say similar - raw, but quite a handful. Only has a year left on contract, so don't want to lose him for free.

Could really be a good signing at this level.

A lot of stupid money being thrown around the championship, makes me worry that we have missed our chance as teams will have quite big war chests now

Or....they'll all be financially knackered, and if we don't manage it this season, maybe it will be the following. They can't all succeed.
