Euro 2016 Prediction League Champion!!

We simply have to have a good start. When we drew 0-0 at home to Stoke in Nov, after 16 games, the top 4 were already in their finishing places. And we were 20th.

Nothing to fear here. I’m confident we will go up this coming season. It would be nice has champions or second, but another playoff big day out at Wembley and we win will do me just dandy.
so stop this negativity and rock this league .
Ow and not forgetting Scumberland get relegated… what a season to look forward to #PUSB

I want as much turmoil as possible for our rivals, it's what screwed up early on last season.

Hopefully all the clubs coming down will lose managers and/or players.

Can't see Hamer dropping down. Kompany is off and I'd imagine someone may take a punt on Edwards.

Leeds will need to sell so could end up weaker.

We definitely have a chance next season

Focus on next season has to be:
1) Strengthening key areas like goalkeeper, central midfield and defence. Not being averse to using the loan market to good effect. Building out a squad to have 2 good players for every position.
2) Retaining key players like Sheaf, MVE etc. If any key players are sold, ensuring we sell them for exorbitant amounts early in the window and getting suitable replacements in quickly.
3) Fast start to the season
4) Clean sheets, limiting errors, own goals
5) Not falling behind in games and playing on the front foot more

Really feel we have a chance here and need to take it.

Would be interested to know what the average amount loan players championship teams had last season?

We had 2 long term loans (one which didn't work out but that can happen)

2 quality loans seems about right considering we want to have a squad made up of our own players with potential resale value if we want any chance of being remotely sustainable.

Will be a more competitive league than last year and will likely be weaker.

Can’t see 3 teams finishing on 90+ again this season.

I’ve never been the blindly optimistic type, sadly, I risk assess everything (the pitfall of an ADHD mind) and that team list doesn’t fill me with optimism.

Leeds, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Norwich, West Brom, Middlesborough, Luton…and like I mentioned elsewhere, I feel that mid-table will be highly congested again, if teams like Blackburn, Stoke and even a dark horse like Portsmouth get their arses in gear, it could be hard to break out of if we get entrenched.

Wouldn’t like to make predictions at this stage, but I can see Leeds, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Luton and Middlesborough being the top 5.

Could be a bumpy ride.

Personally think Sheffield United will be mid table tops. A really awful team who will likely lose the small amount of decent players they do have and an owner who has shown few signs of wanting to invest much money back in team.

Maybe, but did anyone of us see Luton going up before the season started in that year they went up?

Did any of us predict that Ipswich would finish in the top 2 last season?

Can't predict anything right now. We need to see who buys who and how clubs seem to have either strengthened or weakened in their recruitment.

Can’t see Norwich or West Brom being as strong. Both are cutting their cloth and will need to rebuild. Norwich have a new manager and Corberan could leave.

Think you can expect Leeds, Burnley, Sheff U, Luton to be up there, though usually one of the relegated teams fucks it.

Autos is a tough ask but at this stage I’d have us as one of the favourites for a play off spot.

Sheffield United are going to struggle, they have a weak squad and in the Prem this year likely had a worse side than their promotion winning season before. The owner is half out the door and they are going to need a huge mentality shift after getting pumped most weeks.

Leeds owe £180million in transfer fees this summer, they are desperately going to need to shift players on (I think they have 90 covered already). Summerville, Gnotto and Rutter will be gone, then they will have to address some of their issues from this season. Could be a real struggle for them.

Burnley should be strong, but have to get the managerial appointment correct.

Luton will be up there, they basically built a very strong championship side last summer and signed them up to long contracts so will get fees for anyone who goes.

Norwich and West Brom will be strong but need to tighten up their belts a bit, while Middlesbrough have been threatening the last few years.

As somebody above said, it's a very competitive league this year but far more condensed.

Last year the league was essentially 4 mini leagues; Top 3/4, Playoff Contenders, solidly mid table and relegation 4/5.

I can't see that being replicated this year, I think the teams that have come in from League 1 are stronger and the teams that have come down are worse.

None of the 3 teams from League 1 were relegated this season, and obviously one went straight through the league, so i'm not sure i agree that the 3 promoted this time will be stronger.... not that it should impact us at the other end of the table hopefully!

agree the 3 down should be worse....

but again, lets not pretend that there wont be teams that shit themselves and have a bad year and teams that overperform, there's simply no way of knowing.

Key for us is not being in the bottom 6 after 15 games like we have been the last 2 seasons, got to get up there and show consistency

So...

Burnley, Norwich, Hull, Sunderland, Plymouth (potentially WBA as well) - starting the season with a new manager.

Sheff U, Bristol, Milwall, Swansea, Watford, Stoke, QPR, Blackburn, Sheff W, Oxford - only having the first pre-season with their manager.

God it is nice having some stability.
