Embarrassing/comical/dreadful defending by Norwich. Their 33 looks a proper liability. They do carry a goal threat though so this could end up any kind of score, very open.

I will say this, based on the performance tonight, I would have to say Bristol look a better side that us. Much more rounded.

They were apparently really impressive against Sheff Utd too

Why you don’t ship 6 points to Derby. That abomination is what’ll cost us.

Bad result for us tonight, but do quite like how it focuses the players on winning. No settling for a draw tomorrow.

We can't control other results anyway. Just concentrate on our own games.

Norwich out of the play off race

Could be a really interesting weekend.

I'd say if Wednesday, Watford, and Blackburn lose this weekend then they are also out of it

Relax folks, have you seen the run in Bristol have? If they stay top 5 then fair play to them

Yeah, I think that's Norwich pretty much done now.

I do think we really need to get something out of the game tomorrow. A defeat would leave us feeling very despondent and sorry for ourselves.

It would be such a boost to still be in the top 6 at the end of this weekend.

We will see more than a few weird results coming between now and the end of the season. Which will only mean positions changing most weeks. We just got to look at 1 game at a time and take care of our own business. What others do is not controlled by us and we will end up where we are supposed to be.

2 losses to Derby, the last minute loss to Norwich and the shite start to the season is what might cost us a top 6 place in the end. Fine margins

It’ll be the poor start. The overall form since Lampard came in would easily get us in the play-offs over a full season. In hindsight, the change should have happened much sooner.

I think we would a little. Be two defeats in a row and the 2 previous games we hadn't played particularly well in anyway.

I definitely think it would dent confidence and the thought of Sheff Utd and Burnley to come, we would be feeling the pressure for sure

I think we’ll win today but we could easily lose (with the soft goals we give away) and lose to sheff U and Burnley meaning 4 defeats on the spin. That’s my worry.

3 wins out of the next 6 including a win against WBA is the minimum requirement now
assuming all other teams average 2 points per game

the position we will be in after 43 games

us 65
WBA 64 (exc the Bristol game)
BC 67 (exc the WBA game)

Boro 65
Blackburn 64
Watford 64

If we lose all 3 we may as well not finish in the play offs as we’ll show we’re not ready to win them.

As it happens I’m confident we can get 4 points from these games.

Bristol remaining fixtures 1.5 PPG average

Ours 1.39 PPG average

For context Bristol have the 2nd hardest fixtures left in the league , ours are around mid table

West brom and boro both have easier fixtures than us though

Hard as our next 2 games are we play twice before Bristol next play. If we were to win both we would be 5 points ahead with them before Bristol are away v Burnley next up. Sunderland still are to play all of ourselves Bristol and Baggies away too. Optimistic view of course but it could happen

Yeah agreed. It’s been a brilliant turnaround and I’m looking forward to FL having a summer window to create his own team. I think we’ll fall short due to how soft we are at the back. Whether that’s short in terms of playoffs or short as in semi or final, I think the next 3-5 will show it either way
