Watching the Fulham Cardiff game. Fulham play the same way as we do but look better at it. I fancy them to beat Brentford and suggest we'd prefer them to go up so we don't have to play them.

I’m sure we beat Cardiff u23s earlier in the season and tomlin played for them, now looks Cardiff’s best player.

We would likely lose to both anyway so what's it matter?

Tbf I bet they secretly do. I’m sure there’s teams they’d all rather not/rather be playing. Possibly for a variety of differing reasons throughout the season.

I’ll happily have a bet with you they don’t and we can get the question put to robins ?

Alas we’ll never know...by my rationale they’ll be SECRETLY hoping not to play teams...so wont admit it! Unless they do admit it and then I win anyway!

On the skybluesextra podcast with Doyle he was saying they were watching the Exeter Lincoln game and he was happy Exeter won because they thought it would be an easier game. The only difference is that was a one off shoot out. I don’t think they will really care which one of Fulham / Brentford goes up really.

Surely it would suit us more playing against decent footballing teams as you get more time on the ball

FWIW, I think Brentford are the better of the two. Whichever side doesn't go up is likely to end up weaker next season, as they will likely be under pressure to sell their best player(s) to counterbalance the likely drop in income.

If everyone’s having to sell their players because of a drop in income, who is buying all the players?

Surely it’s like housing and everyone’s buying and selling in the same market?

Haven’t played Fulham in any competition since 1982 apparently. I’d probably prefer them, just for that.

Only 8 league games against them since the war and not one since 1968.

I went years ago, to watch Fulham v Brighton. I think it was in the bottom division, whatever it was called back then.
I only mention it as I think cov resident Terry Angus was playing for Fulham.

Fulham play football but can also add some physicality to their game. Both sides looked bigger than we do and the likes of Cardiff will kick the shit out us next season.

If they can catch us!

I agree though, think we need some big lads in to throw their weight about.

No ones going to be going to Craven Cottage (or any other football ground for that matter) any time soon.

Love Terry! I'm from Rugby originally and he was amazing when at VS Rugby and went on to be an awesome veteran for Nuneaton years later. Had a decent league career between that, always followed him. Great player at his level and a true gent off the pitch.

My mates knew him when they were teenagers, basically a couple of football mad kids. I think they delivered papers to him or something. Anyway, they introduced themselves to him and said they knew who he was. Well, Apparently he’d occasionally get them tickets to games, showed them round the ground etc. Sounded like a thoroughly decent bloke.

I think I went to junior school with him - not heard of him since. Does he have a sister called Fiona and lived in the Cannon Park old estate (behind the new estate)?

Think he must have lived in Cannon Park as that’s where my football mates lived...and delivered papers. No idea about any other details as I never met him. Only what they told me and others have said.

I was a paper boy in that area too. I probably know your mates if they are the same age roughly as Terry.

Blimey, now you’re asking...I’d guess they were probably about 10 years younger? They’re the same age as me, 43. They went to Callow. Knew then through playing football...I think it would’ve been Chapelfield Colts, but I also played with them at Allesley Aces and possibly Stoke Heath. An illustrious football career!
