Boro at home, last game of the season (aside from playoffs) will be a different beast, they will be up for it, fans will make it tough. Rotherham had something to play for today, and the red card was questionable and likely ruined the game for them. Im not taking anything from this game other than that Boro will be keen to bounce back at home.

Great result. luton 3rd, boro 4th.
Luton win later Blackburn out, a draw keeps rovers in. but with a terrible GD.
West Brom need a win with a 5 goal turn around.
We are very capable of getting a draw as boro have nothing to play for now. A win would be good for the phsyc but means nothing .
Am i right it could be 3 into 2 in a few hours unless WBA do something special on the last day and we collapse?
I do think we are more than capable of getting the one point we need at boro, it is footbal though!
Depending on the later result today then its Millwall and Sunderland is it not? football is a funny old game?
head to head over the years is ... v Luton W 41 D 19 L28 and v Boro W 18 D 15 L19.
If we make it then i think i would prefer Luton so finishing 6th would not be bad would it?
One defeat in 16 so who is the form team? 45 games 5th who is the form team?
Play offs are a bit of a lottery, look at Forest and look at Udders, nothing is guaranteed the following year is it.
Go for it City, nothing too lose now, it is in our own hands.
PUSB and everything crossed.

I would be more worried if it were Boro's last home game but they will play again in front of their home supporters in the playoffs

Middlesbrough surely won’t want to go into the play-offs off the back of 3 losses you’d think?

If the boot was on the other foot, I don’t think our fans would care if we played our second team and lost, we’d have the common sense to know that resting players was the right thing.

Yes, and I suspect the main thing on most of their supporter's minds is to get through Monday's game with out any injuries etc.

We want Blackburn to get a draw today.
They'll be three points behind us, with 15 goal inferior goal difference. Blackburn then go into their last match with Millwall with all to play for. A Blackburn win against Millwall (with single figure goals) or draw keeps both Blackburn and Millwall behind us.

Have confidence! After an awful start where are we now? one point away from the playoffs. Then it is anyones to take. Trust the team. 16th then 12th most would be happy with top ten? To find we are where we are is at the least an improvement. Going into the last game with a record of one defeat in 16 that is one third of the whole season! yes a lot of draws rather than wins. We are where we are. going into the last game with all in our hands. PUSB.

Sort of agree but there is also something about momentum in these circumstances. Winning adds to confidence and losing games no matter the circumstances is never a good thing.

If Blackburn draw today, they cannot finish above us (barring a double-figure win), but can prevent Millwall from finishing above us too

Blackburn are on 65 points if they draw thats 66 they can catch us with one game to go. if luton win blackburn can only get 68, might be enough for 6th but cant get get to us on 69.

A Blackburn draw tonight means that they go into their away game vs Millwall with everything to play for, more importantly, Blackburn can’t catch us due to our superior goal difference. Ideally we want a Blackburn draw vs Luton and also for them to draw with Millwall. This way neither of them catch us on either points &/or goal difference (as long as we don’t lose heavily). Then you just need to worry about Sunderland and West Brom. Long story short, get a point at Boro and none of the above matters. PUSB

It matters not if we finish 5th or 6th, there is no money for position? your in the play offs. All that all that matters is a playoff position, then its luck? Luton win blackburn are out as of far as cov are concerned. Last day we can still be bettered by sunderland and millwall?

Really need a draw today

Blackburn win and they can overtake us. Chances are one of them or Millwall will win rather than ending in a draw

If they lose there are pretty much out and won't have the motivation Vs Millwall probably

Draw is PERFECT

We would rather both millwall and Blackburn had motivation surely ? A draw is good but only because it keeps blackburn in it

With a goal swing? for WBA advantage? we wont lose at boro. they are 4th it cant change, luton are 3rd! earlier post short of a collapse WBA are virtually out so will Blackburn be with a Luton win. That leaves US millwall and mackems fighting it out. 3 into 2? do we finish 5th or 6th ? who knows. Later today all will be clear but one point is all we need and we are in the payoffs. god forbidd we dont get that point then who knows?

You want Blackburn to go to Millwall with nothing to play for rather than being in a position where they can’t catch us but still have everything to play for?

Of course we want tonight to be a draw.

Dont worry we will do what is required. i dont feel the lack of confidence, we have the been on the up for 5 years now so why worry about sunderland or millwall or blackburn or whoever. It is in our own hands. we will do it. 5th otr 6th is not a bother.
you know when when we sneaked the last play off place? did we win it, of course we did. I dont care who it is, none of our competitiors will want to paly us PUSB

why worry? Matt Crooks and Dan Barlaser were part of the Rotherham team that went down again last year, they aren't suddenly world beaters cos they joined Boro!! Rotherham have been up and down more times than a whore's drawers, but look to be safe this time

Ideal scenario:

Millwall beat Blackburn
Sunderland win 1-0
We lose 9-10
We have identical GD GS and GA to Sunderland they finish 7 th on head to head against us

(I think)

If Blackburn lose they are out of the play off picture completely due to GD

Draw is best as they will still be able to catch Millwall on the last day but won't be able to catch us, and its Blackburn- Millwall on the final day and we don't want Millwall to win.

Calm down children

Great result for us. Still all going to plan. Just a draw for Blackburn now for a perfect day.

All this resting players thing won't happen. It isn't allowed. They looked at Burnley for doing the same a couple of weeks ago when they didn't even do anything wrong. But they won't be playing with the same urgency as us who still might need a point.

Yes. Certain criteria only. Resting your best players who have played nearly every game for those who haven't played most games isn't acceptable.

What they could do is sub them early.
