Just to compare what someone like Bristol would want for him compared to Gyokeres and I found a news article that says they want closer to £20m for him.

If this is the case we should really be holding out for £15m for Gyokeres

I prefer money up front, clauses is always a gamble.

Callum Wilsons England cap got us a measily £30k

We still haven’t got money for Maddison’s England cap because he has to actually start for England and who knows if he will get another England chance

Gyo will get more caps for Sweden but even ignoring that, there’s % sell on, appearance targets, goal targets etc which if a club buying him think he’s any good they’ll agree.

Just seen the lad Liverpool signed today is for £80 million initially but the clauses can take it to £100 mill.

Jon Dahl Tomasson in as Blackburn manager. Taken Malmo to 2 Swedish titles in a row after a run of assistant jobs, be interested to see how much backing he gets

Jon Dahl Tomasson: Blackburn Rovers appoint head coach on three-year deal

Ex-Denmark striker Jon Dahl Tomasson, who led Swedish side Malmo to two successive league titles, succeeds Tony Mowbray as Blackburn boss.

And now Kompany finally confirmed at Burnley.

Another interesting one, they've lost a few key players and with a big chunk of their loan (£40m+?) being called in during the summer will they be able to give him the signings he wants/needs? Talk of them targetting younger players to bring the age of the squad down and probably hoping Kompany can work with and develop them

Haven't checked but I'm fairly sure it was pretty underwhelming

Without checking, absolutely no idea.

With checking and no context at all they finished 3rd, 11 points off 1st so like @rexo87 said pretty underwhelming

Edit - from the BBC article "Kompany retired from playing and took over as manager in August 2020, after which Anderlecht won 41, lost 19 and drew 30 of his 90 games."

He was left with a young Anderlecht squad and relied a lot on developing the academy players. They finished in the top 4 but were behind Union who were promoted from 2nd division last season, Anderlecht have replaced Kompany with Union's manager, there will be more pressure on him to succeed & I wouldn't be surprised if he is gone by Christmas.

Suggested that Burnley's loan repayment to MSD isn't as severe as first thought. Supposedly owe around £15m this season.

I know they have new owners but it’s still depressing that Hull are more ambitious than us.

They are significantly richer, not necessarily more ambitious.

mmmmm......

You can be totally skint and be ambitious.

But being richer means your ambitions are more likely to come to fruition.

So were Brighton, Brentford, Leeds, Leicester, Wolves, Bournemouth etc etc etc.

Please stop acting like the slightest investment is going to end up as th single worst case currently in English football.

Michael Appleton appointed as Blackpool manager, I thought they were going for the Derby assistant Rosenior?

Winning the Swedish title with Malmo is about as obvious as Ajax winning it in The Netherlands. They have the biggest budget by a mile so it would be more of a shock if they didn't win the league two years on the bounce really. Be interesting to see how he gets on with Blackburn, they are a bit of a basket case, but also tend to spend a lot of money.

Seen a couple of rumours;
- Said facilities and budget poor so turned it down.
- Wanted own staff and was not allowed to have them.

Budget was poor compared to a club in Derby's position

Well it all seems rushed after being rejected by another manager so you can understand why there is discontent

Not really sure why they expect much better if I'm honest, Critchley wasn't exactly a big name
