just 16m!! Really!
How will they cope!!??

Like Derby being limited to 8m in League 1... sure our budget I the year we won it was circa 6m??

Well I mean given it was previously quoted to be £21m that's a pretty sizeable cut wouldn't you say?

Unsurprisingly they've signed Ince permanently as well. Apparently his Dad's transfer policy is over 30 has-beens only.

Another foreign signing for Hull, 15 goals in the Portuguese top flight last year

Estupiñán signs for Hull City

Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of Colombian forward Óscar Estupiñán, subject to obtaining a work permit.

Does anyone else think Hull could end up in a feast or famine sort of situation. Owner is hell bent on making good, but im not sold that they will compete or sustain a promotion charge

Best quote I saw was Shane Long showing how many goals he will score this season.

He was sub a lot for a reason he isn’t a top league player just a bloke who worked hard.

Maatsen heading to Burnley on a season long loan.
Don’t think anyone here seriously thought we’d get him back. Hoped, maybe…..

Can’t remember who was in charge but I’m sure I read few years back we had Hunt or Doyle on trial before they went to Reading

Ah, Peter Reid

'So, I agreed to sell Davenport on the proviso that I had the money to reinvest. So, on that basis, I started looking about.

'I brought Stern John in and had Stephen Hunt over on trial from Ireland.

'What's more, Niall Quinn had tipped me off about Kevin Doyle. I was certain that if I could have got to the lad, I'd have signed him as well.

'I needed someone at the back to fill the gap left by Davenport and I'd lined up Malky Mackay who I felt would do a good job for us.

'What happened? We couldn't afford Hunt's £1,500-a-week wages. When I saw what was going on, I didn't follow up my interest in Doyle. Mackay went to West Ham.

'I asked the chairman: (Mike McGinnity) "Where's the money gone?"

'He looked at me and said: "Sorry Peter, the bank's taken it."'

Watched Rotherham away at Salford CIty last night and for the most part they were *checks notes* shite. Obviously it's only preseason and I'm not sure how strong a team they put out. Saying that 63-year old Richard Wood got mugged about 25 yards out to concede Salford's goal, could be a long season for them if he's still first choice CB.

Rotherham will go straight back down, they are identical to Norwich.

Surprised Wood is still going at that level, he looked on his last legs towards the end of his time here, must be in his late 30s now?

I am too. Salford played some nice stuff and got in behind the defence time and time again, he really didn't offer much

Hmmmm.... Not sure if Reid is being wholly truthful there.

The story as I knew it at the time was that Kevin Doyle (amongst others) had been identified by Eric Black & was one of the reasons McGinnity dispensed with him for his "high profile" manager as he didn't think we should be messing about signing nobodies from Ireland etc.

Who knows which is true except that McGinnity's tenure, and Reid's, were an utter disaster.

Levy wins

Tottenham are very close to agreeing a deal with Middlesbrough for defender Djed Spence.

Final negotiations are ongoing over an initial fee of £12.5million rising to a potential total in the region of £20m if add-ons are met.

To be fair we learned last season that goalkeepers get up to scratch pretty quickly. He’s a decent keeper

Reports their academy has been downgraded to Category 2. It’s a business but what a shame academies are one of the first to feel the effects of gross mismanagement at senior level. Birmingham also

Ignoring the attractiveness of Spurs over Forest, but Forest have paid £17m for Williams!

Rather interestingly Hudlin gone to Wimbledon on loan.

Wonder if a make weight as part of Rudoni deal? Or a back door way of getting Hudlin cheaper?

It was for both, which is a steal.
Seems like the Toffolo part might have fallen through though.
