Replace the word thick with stubborn is probably the correct use.

The offer to slash the rent on the Ricoh to 400,000 is a major concession by ACL, but still sisu complain that is still is more than the rest of division 1, what they seem to overlook is the fact that the Ricoh is no Typical div 1 ground but a state of the art modern complex, if the truth be known, isnt it the reason they came here in the first place? to get their sticky fingers on the site has been their main objective and the betterment of the team secondary, ACL has made them a most generous offer, which they have refused, according to reports, If the football club folds, let the blame be laid at the right door

Sorry Brighton...no chance. We would fill it 5-6 times a season - Man U, man c, Liverpool, Chelsea, arsenal and probably the villa.

We won't ever know unless it actually happened to be fair Stu. The promotion season in itself would drive up crowds to the mid-high 20s.

He aint a local though wingy, thats why he continues to back sisu. If they moved the club to rugby, leam or nuneaton it wouldn't matter to him,he'll never understand how us coventrians feel about an out of town hedge fund basically taking the piss out of us.

Of course. Though having been to a full St Mary's in April to see our youth battalion get tonked 4-0 before a mass pitch invasion, wanting similar scenes at the Ricoh one day isn't a bad thing nor unrealistic if we ever had a Saints like revival.

It's a good job us non locals turn up though, isn't it? You wouldn't even get into four figures without us.

Is this a battle between nasty ruthless heartless landlords against a poor penniless downtrodden little football club or is it a battle between the council who represent the citizens of Coventry and a Coventry based children's charity against a faceless London based hedge fund who's motives for getting the stadium are unlikely to be philanthropic (or maybe someone actually believes that they the only hedge fund in the world that buys businesses to invest and improve them rather than break them up and sell them off at a quick profit)

No I take it back THICK it is .What sort of duplicitous fool would cite ",I won't negotiate if I'm backed in a corner" ,Just what has he attempted to do to ACL.I find it odd that they would publish the details of negotiation".He's just had two response free weeks in the media throwing mud at their door .Finallly he's lost the plot by suggesting they can play elsewhere,Cheerio Tim but dim you're toast.:jerkit::jerkit:

SISU shown up to be a bunch of vile scumbags shocker..................so with concessions like that turned down, what is their cunning plan?........You can have sympathy with those fans who refuse to go until these cretins have gone, irrespective of the state they will leave the club in. I think they really thought they could drive ACL to the wall.:jerkit:

Actually of they negotiate a huge rent reduction that will be excellent news. The fact that ACL after relatively modest action have already agreed such a reduction tells you something.

There cunning plan by the way will be to stall even more and hope to get further concessions.

Lets hope they do as all of us I am sure are only interested in the clubs expenditure being as low as possible.

Would guess TF got caught on the hop by these details coming out.

Lets be honest ACL have made a very reasonable offer - a final offer by the looks - which CCFC have turned down.

btw £400k no longer us the highest rent payers in L1 - want proof just ask a Walsall supporter today.

Real question is do TF and SISU really want to do a deal .......... or is there another motive to this :thinking about:

I'm led to believe, that ACL also wanted the rent owed from when they stoped paying with 50% of match day revenue. SISU want 200k rent, 100% match day revenue and the rent be backdated to when they stop paying.

Pushing for a bargain SISU are, it'll probably end up somewhere in the middle :thinking about:

Sorry KD but if you think they're getting any more off you've took a wrong un ,there will be no more concession.

You simply cant use the fact that the stadiums a lot posher therefore should be more expensive arguement, it makes no sense.

However after relatively little talks ACL have dropped the rent by 67%, SISU will hang on and on, if no further offer is forthcoming they will then make a call and say you know what we will take that deal, if ACL respond negatively then it will be ACL at fault according to them..... Long way to go yet.....

We will see. There still could be concessions on distribution of match day revenue even if the figure remains the same.

The fact that such a significant decrease can be made begs the question why it was not done earlier. If the ground was owned by another hedge fund everyone would be screaming at them for being profiteering scum. However as it is perceived as a local business they attract all the sympathy,

Just what have they done wrong?Produced a fantastic stadiumm for this city and a bankrupt team .Yes its my ideology that drives my opinion i'm sure it is with all of us ,when the right owner /fan group are around some years from now and its all secure and paid for I'm sure ACL/Council will be more benevolent to purchase at areasonable price ,for now they can't risk some out of town shysters from wrecking the whole set up.

its not the bargain you think they are after though SBT - but we will have to agree to differ on that opinion

Fisher's argument will be the rent is still double what L1 teams play and higher than all Championship teams pay.

is the rent reduction retrospective? I'd expect some of the £1.1m to be written off, maybe even 67% of it

Comparing to other rents is fairly meaningless though, it isn't really an open market is it?

think that's a key point, they aren't going to accept any deal that doesn't backdate any new rent agreed. Also this deal talks about 3 years, what happens after that?

if ACL are in as healthy a position as they keep claiming they should be able to offer a drop to £200K and backdate that. Maybe add in a one off payment or rise in rent should we ever get into the premiership. Did see the "putting at risk the Ricoh project for jobs and leisure development around the stadium" comment, how can the project as a whole and jobs etc be at risk if ACL is doing as well as they claim and don't need CCFC?

There's a significant amount of chest-beating going on with both sides:

CCFC: We'll move somewhere else then
ACL: We're fine, we don't need 'em

Someone will need to blink first.

Yes - like somebody wrote yesterday:

Godiva said:
The club may have turned down the offer if ACL insist the new rent is only valid from the day of agreement and not calculated back to the day the club stopped paying. It may not be a question about a few throusand pounds per months, but £1m+ here and now (or even future installments).

It was in a different thread - but I am happy that someone else has come up with this point as I think it may well be the key to understand why they have turned down the offer.
