Does Black turning the job down before take him out of the running for it this time?
or does it make him a favourite for the job seeing as he's free to take it?

He is assistant to Kean at Blackburn at the moment, tbh I don't think Kean will be there much longer so he could be looking for work again soon

Worried? As this is probably the most important signing the City will have made since 1961, yes.

I hope it's Richard Money at this point. He seems to have a knack of getting his teams to compete.

I've said all along I would like Paul Tisdale, but I knew we wouldn't get him. Would be happy with Wilder too and Wise, if only for the inspiration and revolution he might bring.

I just don't want someone on a downward spiral and that is why I am totally against Brown and Ince etc.

The obvious sensible choice would be Tisdale, but he either doesn't want it or we don't want to shell out the meagre fee it would cost to prise him from the mighty Exeter. Much as we wouldn't shell out more than 50k for Le Fondre when he was the best player in that division.

Regrettably, we are a failing team built out of free-transfers who are hoping to get out of the mess by hiring a manager who is also in effect a free transfer. To which all I can say is

All those who stayed away from home games last season and this can proudly stand up and say: I did that!

Well I went to every game, so I didn't! And anywhere, you are making an incongruous point: are you saying that the total lack of signings last season was due to the gates? In which case, how come Fisher has admitted that it was the previous board making mistakes that was to blame? And how come we've made more signings this season, when gates are actually lower?

Phil Brown once openly admitted he'd take the England job if offered..is that relevant to the debate?

covcity4life, my god you have an obsession about this comment Otis made, and you keep bringing it up. Can you just let Otis believe in what he thinks and move on.
Its getting a bit boring now, so just move on will you.
If he is very patriotic and would love England to win a trophy before us, so what, he can care about two teams at once. He should'nt have to keep explaining it to you every month

It wasn't aimed at you, I just picked up on your remarks that mostly everybody coming in this season - including a new manager are free agents.

I was saying that lack of signings last season was down to no money left. The club had to move Juke on to bring in money and lower the overall wage cost. A (small?) part of the the wage money saved was recirculated on the two loans we got in Jan/Feb.

Fans who stayed away from home games didn't really do the club a favor. Failing gates don't count for everything, but it was (is) part of the financial headache.

You just trying to wind me up? cos it ain't going to work.

England winning the world Cup for me would be the ultimate. Never going to deviate from that so why keep bangin on about it.

I live and breathe Coventry City every single day of my life. What was more important to me this week? A City victory against Stevenage or England over Ukraine.? Daft question because it was obviously Coventry City.

To my knowledge though it wasn't a World Cup final.

City's manager I consider to be the most important thing on the planet at the moment.

My top 3 choices would go:
1-Wise
2-Money
3-Wilder maybe

My worst 3 choices would go:
1-Staunton
2-Eric Black
3-Blackwell/ Connor

Honestly think he's just trying to wind me up, cos no-one could be that obsessive about something could they surely? Has to be that, unless I have a stalker of course.

Yep, two teams, love both with a passion. It's bit of a daft question anyway cos we all know England are never going to win the World Cup again anyway.

Got to be Wise. Even at his age, he could register as a player and show the midfield how it's done!

Yes agreed but even with our dwindling crowds we still have 4th highest average crowd so far, so surely we have enough support and a better profile in terms of attracting sponsors than most in this league to expect a successful season.

Well, didn't exactly miss it.

Did the church service, went to the reception (got there about 1ish I think) but then at 2 p.m. I simply sneaked out and disappeared. Didn't tell anyone I was going as I knew my mum would be furious, but the City has to come before your brother obviously!

Anyway, drove straight to HR where I stood in the middle of the West End in a three piece suit with carnation and I saw City beat Leshtur 1-0, Don Nardiello scored the goal.

To add icing to the cake and my brother's marriage lasted just 3 months.

Yet we're lead to believe ST sales increased by around 2.5 k. last season Godiva. This achieved by a reduction in cost to the supporter ,enabling Sisu to mortgage against them, this costing the club circa 0.5M.-1M. in gate take and interest fees , a direct consequence of Sisu's inability to fund the club .Now its possible to argue that gate reduction played its part, but with 9-11 players leaving through the summer and during the season with 3 permenant replacements i reckon gates of circa 15k. were not that awful or surprising.

If my daughter had been born on the same day as City were playing it would have been a tough call too!
