I'm forever the optimist but after the week end we have just shot ourselves badly in the foot after all the hard work put in recently. I said the other day the law of averages suggested we could not go 8 unbeaten and so it proved.

When the dust has settled here and the arguments have stopped about who is to blame, lets simply sum up feeling among us all on one thing that matters: can we still survive or will we go down?

Lets see where the poll lands on this one for a general consensus thus avoiding all the he said, I said, told you so, SISU's fault, AT's fault continuum.

Grab a pair and mark the card folks....

its not in our hands certainly, and it all depends on the results that bristol city get, cannot see them getting anything from their next two games (brum and west ham) but with the unbelievable results that have come out lately , who knows.....

Now its going to be nigh on impossible ! The best side won today, no doubt about that. Yes bristol have a tough run in, but they have momentum....always a good thing. We have nothing to offer. No strike threat, and a defeatist attitude. I'm afraid we are going down.

I want to believe that we can stay up but really think our number is up this time!........ Though as the wife so often reminds me I have been known to be wrong.

I'm resigned to relegation. Anything else is just a bonus

If Bristol get anything from their next two games then I think we are probably down. I won't give up hope until it's mathmatically impossible though.

Wrong question.

Can we surivive? Course we can and for that reason I voted yes. Question should have been will we survive. Might then have got a different answer.

Having seen the team survive many times before, winning three in a row (at Stoke and at home againts Luton and Everton) in the eighties to send down Norwich, winning 2-1 at home against Norwich and them hitting the post with two minutes to go which would have sent us down, beating QPR on the last day of the season to stay up, being at Spurs when we stayed up against all odds etc etc, I know we can survive and mathematically we can........

But, sadly this year I think we are down.

Drawing is no longer an option. So we have to win at Burnley which seems pretty unlikely.

My main concern is we looked knacked on Saturday and always looked second best. We could get out of this if we have the rsolve. If we win at Burnley it's all back in the melting pot.

We can stay up but don't think we will now - Bristol probably only need another 3/4 points, we will need 8/9. Not gonna happen this time.

We need to give up on this diamond formation shit this is one of the reasons we've only won 1 away game all season we are to open when playing this way 442 sets two banks of 4 which most teams find hard to break down.saying that we've only been battered a few times. We need to beat Burnley simple as that

For me, not so simple as it does depend upon momentum and positions after every game. As I posted yesterday, I can't see Bristol getting anything from Birmingham or West Ham; whereas I can see us taking 4 points from Burnley and Millwall. That would place us above them; moving into us playing relegated Doncaster at home and they Barnsley. Thereafter, we stand a grand chance of going into the last game of the season with our destiny in our own hands. It is still quite possible

But Coop, we have changed between the diamond, and 4-4-2 depending upon who's available. Have been for months. As above, a win at Burnley would be great, but a draw could be enough. We can't lose it though

Been saying from the start of the season we'll be relegated, started to change my tune a bit recently, I still think we are in a better position going into the last 4 games. I think we'll both be level on points going into the final game, Both of us losing with us staying up.

I was going to say similar. Based on the thread question I picked survival, but on likelihood I'd go relegation.

Unfortunatley I think you could be right.

Cast your minds back just a few days. We were out of the bottom 4 and had Peterborough and Bristol to come. People are here were talking in terms of 4 or maybe all 6 points. We ended up with 1.

We have shot ourselves in the foot and everything changed in the space of just 3 days. Unbelievable when you think about it.

Always keep hoping, even after 40 years of hurt. Feel very down at present but it can still be done. Many are assuming Bristol will beat Barnsley, a reasonable assumption but Barnsley have, at last, picked up after a dire run. No reason why Bristol won't slip up in that game and draw or lose, just like we did against Peterborough.
Keep hoping.

The most likely result is that the current bottom 3 will go down, but in the Championship and especially at this stage of the season the most unlikely result is the one that happens.

The poll is clear Otis: survive or not. The poll states "SURVIVE" AND "RELEGATED" Think the choice is stark and clear enough don't you? It's not about what I wrote in the post, that's mere semantics.
