I was not impressed by this response from Neil Lennon.

http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/439782148?-11214

Saying that AB was being disrespectful when the offer made for Westwood was nothing more than a slap in the face. 500,000 for Westwood, what price did Ben foster go for? how much was Brad Jones, to Liverpool? think Lennons been smoking crystal meth because something must be causing his brain damage...

I have also heard that Speroni from Palace has been priced at about £3 million too!

At the end of the day, money talks

Foster and Jones had/have a lot longer left on there contracts though.Yes.Westwood one of the best around, but as he only has little time left on his contract we ain't gonna get a big fee.Clubs would rather wait till the end of the contract and have him for free.Do people real think that a club are gonna pay millions for a player whose out of contract at end of season,no chance.

Lennon is just going to be another one on the scrapheap at Celtic after another poor season anyway. He would say something along the same lines if we put in a shite offer for one of Celtic's star players! Well no that wouldn't happen to be fair because they haven't got any.

YES, beacuse at the end of his contract he will have the pick of the bunch, he then decides which "bigger" club he goes too, celtic it wont be.if they want him then they need to pay a "reasonable" amount, offering peanuts just beacuse he hasn't signed yet is pointless.
He could play all season have a blinder help us get promoted and then decide, if we are struggling come Jan, then maybe.but if we are pushing for it!!.....that's worth a bit more than £500,00. you think?

No matter what happens now there's no chance we are gonna get the fee we think he's worth. It's not in Westwood's intrests to go to a team who are offering a fee because it would mean he would get less wages. If he waits til the end of his contract he will have a pick of clubs who will all be offering huge wages. The only way he might stay is if we go up,but if not there is Zero chance of him being with us next season if we don't.
