Just spotted on twitter that Roussel passed away today.

That's tremendously sad news. I'll always remember him as a significant part of a very exciting City team. In his mid forties too, that's no age at all. RIP.

Just saw this myself (and started a thread at the same time!).

Really sad news, I always thought he was a very decent player in a really good team. Led the line well and unselfishly, and had no little ability. No age at all, as others have said.

Wasn't sure if this was new when I first opened it and had to check on Wiki. Can only assume I was confused with Regis Genaux.

That's such a shame, always rated him for us, thought he worked well alongside Keane.

Friend of mine who I sit with at the CBS passed away last week, similar age and same cause. Shocker.

Sad news, he was at the club last season and sounded a really humble genuine fella.

RIP Cedric.

Oh no way, that was my favourite season. First season I started going a lot and unfortunately still the best team I've seen. His career after us was odd but for the short time he was partnered with Keane, I thought he was great. RIP

That’s awful news, what a shocker.

Wonder if it’s that condition where the arteries in the heart thicken and thereby cause a fatal heart attack…can’t recall it’s medical name…so prevalent among footballers and ex-players, it seems.

Thoughts and condolences to his family, what a tragic thing to happen.

Those two goals at Old Trafford were class. I think my favourite is definitely against the Villa, as it was our first win against them for ages in the league (IIRC), and the way Keano skinned Delaney for the cross in was superb.

Very sad news, especially given his age.

Best memory of him was his performance in the 3-2 win against Arsenal which was one of the best games I have ever seen us play.

I loved him, he was perfect foil for Keane, and allowed Keane to become the star of the team whilst himself being a great player

I started going regularly as a 9 year old for the 'entertainers season' and they made me fall in love with the club.

To lose any of that side especially so young is tragic

Rest In Peace Cedric
