Get Billy Bell in to MC every game, I'd be happy with just that to be honest.

At at least it will get everybody to go to the bar so we don't have to listen to him so he will be good for ffp

Not a lot but they win Britains Got Talent now for 2 consecutive years.....

hopefully the the club is about to try something different, some will work, some won't, but I am pleased they are trying to engage and ask, as someone said, maybe there will be a dragons den style idea that really helps the club.

Oooh, I like the idea of dragons. Will the kids be able to ride them round the concourse?

We should adopt the entertainment strategy Bristol City developed last season.

You have to look at what a good match day experience actually is. When you go to some grounds it doesn't feel like a football game, there is nothing around the ground that makes a difference and when you get into the ground it still feels like a friendly. The Ricoh is one of them.
Unfortunately we have a stupidly big stadium which has a poor atmosphere. At away games we as supporters are top notch, singing throughout, but it just doesn't happen at home games. For me the best matchday experiences are at stadiums where there is consistent singing and cheering. In many ways it is the fans fault for not singing, I know for my self and a few others it doesn't take good football to get behind the team. Now with the fans being crammed together, it will hopefully improve, the JPT matches actually felt like football games.

There is a few things the club should do. Once supporters get off the trains let them know they are going to a match. Get a stall set up selling flags, shirts etc. like at most other grounds. Try and also get permission off Wasps to add a bit more Coventry City branding on the Tesco stand, a few pictures of ex players wouldn't go a miss. As a few mentioned previously, the old school video which was played a few years ago used to get the crowd going before the match, we need more of that.
Setting up advertisements at Cov station for me would be a good idea. Let people know that they are 10 minutes away by train to a football match.

We saw at the Oldham game on the Tuesday night that there is a potential for atmosphere, but the fans have to do their bit. That and the Ricoh return match were the two occasions last season where I actually enjoyed the experience because of the atmosphere created by our supporters.

I'd have closed this the moment the expressions "neg-heads" and "diss" were used ;-D

Come one Grendel, most people on here would be bored if we had that simple strategy.

It's all a bit sterile these days though, all seater stadia built in areas away from the population, long walk ups, over zealous stewarding, health and safety bullshit over flags and banners etc, smokers having to retreat outside, singing types spread all over the ground, no alcohol allowed on transport to matches, kids in all areas meaning adults tend to be a bit more quiet and curb the language and aggression.

I know things were a bit rougher in the old days but van and coach loads of fans showing up beered up, low roofs over packed terracing full of predominantly younger blokes out with their mates, close in with home/away fans, edgy boozers, special trains, real rivalries, bigger crowds, players allowed to tackle properly, less play acting, more sensible refs, a lot less diving and cheating.

When men were men and all that !! Not to everyone's taste I appreciate but the whole Saturday was dedicated to the football and it was a thrill a minute until you got home in one piece after a bag of chips !

It wasn't all about scrapping, it just all had a more raucous lads out on the ale feeling about it and with that came the most tremendous atmospheres in the grounds.

Club can't play videos before or during the game because of copyright

Appears so. That's what Kieran Crowley said in the SCG meeting.

No problem with that as long as it features bra-less women

Doesn't surprise me. I suppose the FL own the rights. I used to stick highlights and goals up on my YouTube account but was told to remove them by Google because of complaints of copyright theft from the Football League.

Are we saying that if we record our own matches they don't belong to us?

You mean just videos of previous games? As I'm sure highlights of the game at the time are always played during the match

And what about interviews or U18 games or a multitude of other media the club produces? Besides I'd have thought you have fair use rights if you're only using a bit of it.

This is the sort of question the SCG should he asking. The club seem very unimaginative getting past basic hurdles and it seems there's no one either in the organisation or the SCG with the wit to explore options.

Can you imagine the reaction Jimmy Hill would've got on here?

We'd still be Div 3.

Edit: I realise we ARE in Div 3, you know what I mean
