Trying to understand our dilemma in CCFC being pathetic at scoring goals (ie more than frigging 1 per game !!!) I have had a look at the stats from our last eight games (H &A) from beginning of October up to last Sat v W Ham.

During that run of fixtures we managed to have:

32 shots on target with the opposition having 57 on target
44 shots off target with the opposition having 36 off target

The facts scream the obvious that we are just not shooting enough and are not accurate in our attempts at goal when we do so.

This becomes more apparant when we look at the individual players CCFC scoring chart with Plattini racing into second leading goalscorer with 2 goals !!!

I am now convinced that this "Diamond" formation nullifies attacking football particularly with midfielders not providing ammunition to the front men and also contributing virtually zilch in scoring goals themselves.

Time for a change AT - despite a belter of a game and ironically having more shots on target than W Ham.

The midfield is the answer - we need a younger Dennis Wise type of character - a player that can open up defences and make goalscoring runs - time for a change AT.

Dont think the forwards are shot shy even despite the poor service they often get. I think it is the rest of the team that is and particularly the midfield.

Looked like a flatter diamond to me Rich almost 4:3:1:2

We don't get enough people forward this much is obvious. If you look at Southampton at the Ricoh they had Lambert, Guly, Chaplow, Lallana, Cork, Schneiderlin all bombing forward and getting in the penalty box looking to score goals.
We usually only have 1/2 players in the box in goalscoring positions also we don't counter attack we give teams time to regain there shape then we try and play through them which we don't have the quality to do.

Unfortunately that Dennis Wise type player is called Charlie Adam, and he's playing for Liverpool. The closest I've seen to a ball-winner and playmaker rolled into one. We won't be finding a player like that. Gael will be one day.

As far as the lack of protests go, I do have to conclude that they have ground us into apathy. I was expecting a massive anti-SISU sentiment Saturday, whatever the score, but I think a lot of people have given up on getting rid of them any time soon.

So... Despite the fact the diamond worked really well and was given as the reason for our good performance by the opposition manager forcing him to change his game plan, we should change it?

Do you do the finances for SISU?

No I do not do SISU's finances BUT I can plainly see (and most others can) that the diamond is pretty pretty up to the halfwayline and then falls apart because of careless passing, losing possession or continually passing sidewards and backwards.

There is a marked reluctance to attack in numbers or indeed going forward - the incisive pass to the forwards is not there, the speculative shot is not there - the safety first approach is resulting in one goal per game and conceding a shedfull.

If people are happy to continue with this style of play resulting in just 5 wins in 27 games (18% wins) then its goodbye Championship status.

Yes I was expecting far more protesting. There was a lot of talk prior to the game and then nothing. I giess you get what you deserve in the end. I think some fans are deluded. Many who sit near me think we will be OK this season, we can't go down as we are too big a club.....I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
