Evatt scored his first Premier League goal against Bolton on Saturday

Blackpool defender Ian Evatt is refusing to be overawed by the goal threat Manchester United are likely to impose at Bloomfield Road on Saturday. The league leaders beat Blackburn 7-1 in their last Premier League game, but Evatt is hoping that is just a one-off.

"We're going to give it our best shot, like we always do, and hopefully give them a good game," the 29-year-old told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"They'll certainly face a different kind of atmosphere here."

Blackpool have continually defied their doubters having picked up 19 points from their opening 15 league games.

And the Coventry-born defender believes they will continue to offer something different to the Premier League.

"We're excited every week and every game is a cup final," said Evatt. "To be playing the way we're playing is a breath of fresh air.

"I read some articles after the play-off final and they said we wouldn't even win a corner this season, so to get 19 points by the start of December is fantastic.
"We're just going to keep our head down and keep proving people wrong."
