He left Sunderland because of a meddling owner and I imagine most like him would feel similarly

Does anyone know why Lampard has been out of a job for a year?

Was it his own choice to step out of the limelight and take time out for a while, or has he been looking for a job and been linked to other teams these past few months?

Just wondering.

Some posters on here will tell you he’s been holding off for the Cov job. This is my main concern too. Plenty of teams lower end of the prem and top end of the championship have been after managers and nobodies looked twice at him

Interviewed and was close to Burnley job which tbh I'd have thought was better suited to him. They went for Parker over him who has been promoted twice from the league.

Worrying that our so called ‘unbiased’ BBC CWR coverage has resulted in Rob Gurney (Doug Queen apologist) to refuse to allow any anti-king sentiment to be read out and to allow only 4 callers in a whole ‘phone in’ tonight on CWR. And then is lame enough to drop the ‘other pubs are available’ when the Fuzzy Duck in Leamington was mentioned .

Considering Rob Gurney fucked CWR and Cov off for West Brom and Villa and only came back when we were better than his beloved ‘baggies, he’s got a fucking cheek.

Even Eakin didn’t censor messages about SISU and King. Gurney is there to read out the messages (providing they’re not foul etc) not just what you choose suits your agenda. Great questioning on the Fans Forum, asking about plans to purchase the stadium and geriatric signings, very key and topical for that moment. Fucking clown.

Bring back Geoff Foster and get rid of this lick spittle CWR! I know you read this forum bellend Gurney.

He's been doing lots of punditry and has young children including a baby. He's clearly been looking for jobs as per his media appearances and podcasts.

I zoned out of that bit. A phone in where you aren’t allowed to phone in unless you’re one of 4 happy clappers or Nick from Birmingham.

Gurney was a great commentator back in the day (another Cov kid that quit) but he’s come back and tried to make it all about him and his opinions and refusing to read out anything that goes against his narrative of praising everything DK does.

Gurney’s questioning at the forum was piss poor and Clive had to get him out of the irrelevant tangents he kept going for.

Me for a start! I tried last Friday and was told by the producer that the selection of a new manager was covered by a NDA and the panel couldn’t discuss it and tonight I was told it’s not a phone in tonight. When I then sent a message tonight questioning Doug King and the disastrous decision and process, he only read out my comments about tactics for tomorrow and the players.

It isn’t up to Rob Gurney to decide what opinions he likes and doesn’t like, he works for the BBC - by his own standards he can’t even mentioned the name of a pub without saying other pubs are available.

It’s double standards of Gurney to make himself the voice of reason. His questioning was poor at the fans forum to create tangents, has said for months Doug doesn’t have ‘emotional attachment to MR’ and refusal to air any criticism of DK or the process, makes it blindingly obviously what Gurney is up to.

Gurney can’t claim he’s being impartial on behalf of the BBC when he’s choosing the narrative to suit him. Lick spittle.

Bit much that. Criticise him as a broadcaster all you like, but 'bellend', 'I know he reads this forum' etc? Isn't this someone who recently took time out for mental health issues? He should expect criticism in his job, but not sure it warrants that level of vitriol tbh.

It kind of is up to him isnt it. He is hosting the show and therefore can help decide what gets broadcast and what doesnt. The callers and messages they get are mainly incoherent ramblings so i can only imagine the type they dont broadcast. Based on your over the top, and unneccesary personal abuse towards him, i would put you fimly in the latter category.

Rob seems a really genuine and likeable guy who finds the balance between being a fan,but also a radio host, a difficult one.

I find the histrionics about not having a new manager in place from some City fans to be ridiculous to be honest.

Most well run clubs take a few weeks to get the new manager in place. Look at Liverpool last season, Brighton in the summer, etc.

Getting this decision right is far far more important than the next 2 fixtures.

If you’re not sure …. Ask yourself this if King said he had secured Klopp but he couldn’t start for another month we would all think that was incredibly exciting news and the right trade off. Clearly that isn’t going to happen but it shows that we would all be prepared to wait for the right outcome.

Remind me, what’s Eustace and Bloomfield’s highest league position over a full season?

Since we’ve beaten Blackburn in October, their record is 2-1-5. That’s worse than our record and come the end of the season, it wouldn’t shock me to see Blackburn fighting for survival.

If you genuinely think Eustace and Bloomfield are better candidates than Lampard, reduce your doses of copium.

If we appoint a manager like Klopp from left field or a manager of proven credentials who perhaps is in a job already, the wait will have been understandable and worth it for sure.

Why do people phone in at all? If you've got an issue conntact the club directly, it's easy to do. Phone ins are tedious as fuck and are nearly exclusively used by idiots who just want anyone to hear them I tend to find

When I can't get to a game I enjoy listening to Clive and Oggy. Both knowledgeable and entertaining. They say it how it is. That's unless it's what club we're playing. We get a few different opponents sometimes.
