I want him to succeed, but don't believe he will. He lacks the aggression you need to be a top player. In fact, he needs one of those little dog collars that gives an electric shock wrapped around his bollocks so that Frank can fire him up a bit mid-game.

We can't continue with 2 hit or miss lethargic forwards.
It would make a huge difference to get a centre forward with aggression who actually likes getting in the box, making a nuisance of himself, rattling defenders, who is desperate to score goals.
Simms needs to go.

Abso- fucking- lutely

In a heart beat. The guy can't trap or control a football ffs, and can't even head a ball!!!

On top of that he doesn't work hard enough, or use his physicality enough.

Shit hair do too

I’m less concerned about the aggression element.

It’s the first touch that means you can’t really involve him in build up play that worries me more

He can't head a ball yet managed to score 4 headers last season. This is in a thread where the analysis even says that heading accuracy is an area of the game he has improved.

Of course hes improved, he couldn't really of been any worse.
There's more to heading than just scoring, I'd love to see him win a header with his back to goal, get a flick on, or even bring the ball down on his chest and lay it off (to one of our own players)

He's one of our top earners, but one of our poorest players.
I think the fact that Lampard left him out of both play off games would indicate that his time here is up. But as I've said before, we could have difficulty off loading him, I doubt anyone else would pay him what we are paying him.

Ideally, we move him on and replace him with a striker who is more aggressive and competitive, more able to control a pass and convert the chances he will get. Who's that gonna be? I'm hoping Frank and Dean are working on that as a priority, it looks like he doesn't have much of a future here now.

I'm still a fan of Simms, and in the keep category but I can see how he frustrates.

Maybe him not featuring in the two play off semis is a hint that Lampard doesn't seem him in his future plans either

You mean like Bassette? I really think he has all those attributes. All he needs now is to add a bit of skill and he'll be a top striker. I just hope its for us and not against us.

One of our strikers is going to have a great 25/26 season but I have no idea which one.

Bassette doesn't actually get in the box much or attack the goal. So not for me.

Or we could just tell him to push 10 yards further forward?

Perhaps if he had played him, we would be in the premiership.

I think he needs more than just a bit.

Norm has a deranged work rate, and I don’t 100% mean that as a compliment.

Ffs the lads only 20 !!!
He's already got an international call up, and attracted interest from a number of talent scouts.

How old was Gyokeres when we signed him?
And if I remember correctly some clowns on here were saying he wasn't good enough either.

Which scouts?

The two minutes of stoppage time that Norm played for Belgium (total touches: 0) is really working overtime at the moment.

The fact that he was fast tracked to the full Belgian international squad when he haz only just turned 20 instead of playing for their U21 is a sign of how highly he's rated.

Not to mention the fact that Robins rated him enough to spend good money on him even though we had plenty of cover up front.

And then there's the fact that someone of Lampards standing in the game rated him enough to see him involved in 25 games in his first season in English football.

But hay, what do they know????
If SBT thinks hes shit, then I guess that's it for him.

He hasn’t made a Belgium squad since November - the call up is looking more and more like a work experience placement than a sign he’s one of Belgium’s best strikers.

Which scouts came to watch him?

The club have stated scouts have been watching him. If your that desperate to know which ones I suggest you e-mail the club.

And of course his call up was to give him experience, he was only 20 the week before the cap.

I think it was Everton's desperate need for cash that saw him moved on more than anything else - along with Cannon. And Dyche was in charge at the time of our signing him.
