I clearly have a very different opinion on Binks to many, and I'm full expecting to to get shot down!

Binks was pretty reckless himself, positionally atrocious often getting dragged out of position. Decision making suspect. This is a great move for him but we won't miss him imo.

Thank god we don’t listen to this “analysis”

we would have Collins starting in goal and Binks at CB

Not much to say really, the Championship looked a bit too much for him and he'll benefit from the move while we recoup all the money we spent on him.

"Previous moves to Montreal & Bologna tell you a lot too."

So too, I think, do the fact that he was moved on very quickly. He has talent, and there's definitely a reason why clubs sign him, but he also flatters to deceive. We just never look secure with him at the back. I think the extremely low number of clean sheets we've kept when he's in the side, whilst obviously not just down to him, is telling.

I agree that Kitching isn't good enough either, and we have to get a better centre-back in as a priority. Presumably we will.

4 clubs have now been happy to move Binks on at a young age - he’s a data darling that negatively impacts the team on the pitch

Binks being a good passer is a myth, the amount of times his long diagonals went straight out of play, his 5-10 yard short passes would be leathered at the receiving player and put them into trouble - I guess the data calls that a "successful pass"

Standout Binks moment for me was at the Bet365 first game of last season when he cleared the ball on to the roof of a stand. Not easy to do in a modern stadium.

That was probably a short pass intended for Thomas

I’m sure I read somewhere that he was being compared to Virgil Van Dijk. Bizarre.

Good business for City, apparently he commanded a good salary too, so frees up a bit more money hopefully
