I’m certainly no fan of Sisu and there is a lengthy change sheet that is against them. In this instance though, I think the blame lies totally with Wasps. It is their responsibility to ensure that the stadium we are renting is fit for purpose. It is as only when the CWG were underway that the problems with the pitch came to light. It seems that since then Wasps have been in denial, unwilling to accept responsibility and generally blaming CCFC (why?) rather than look at themselves. Even if Boddy had known weeks ago, the attitude that Wasps have displayed would make it unlikely that the outcome would have been different to what it is.

May be getting this confused with something else but I seem to remember reading something at the time Wasps were looking to take the site over that planning was only granted for the centre on the basis it was for public use or something like that. Not only have they taken it out of public use they're now building houses on the site.

No doubt on the Wasps board they will be celebrating this and telling everyone how all the locals are in favour.

probably not, but he could have treated supporters with a bit more respect.
He gets credit for the overall improvement in communication since hes arrived so he has to take criticism in an instance like this when it's been poor.

I think he has bigger challenges coming up , to repair the damage to the cash flow , with 3 league games postponed and 1 league cup game , this would have made a massive dent , can see the pressure to sell intensifying

We have 13k season ticket holders, (many aren't based in the city), we were told on the eve of the Rotherham game it wouldn't go ahead.
Was that because Boddy didn't know how bad the situation was? Or did he know but adopted a hope for the best approach?
Either way, that's on him, he was either asleep at the wheel, or knew how severe things were and kept us in the dark.

Surely they would have had to give the maximum amount of time to the ground staff to see if they could produce a safe surface. I could imagine Wasps turning around and saying that the referee was called in a day or two days early and that given that time, the pitch would have been ready. I could also see the EFL wanting to leave it as late as possible in the hope that the game may have been played.

You can't really say Wasps 'folded'. A 'compromise' was reached. We don't know the detail of the arrangement.

it's quite clear to me that the Rotherham game was never going to be on.
If it was anywhere close to being a borderline decision then even if Rotherham hadn't gone ahead then surely Wigan would of?
They knew more than they were letting on and they kept the support in the dark.

it's true. Just look at the threads on here relating to the issue, no one really knew what was going on and now we're on to our third postponement. We were kept in the dark like fucking idiots, piss poor from the club.

the game was officially called off Saturday evening, less than 24 hours before kick off, piss poor.
And like I said in another post, if it was borderline fair enough, but if it was, we wouldn't have then had a further 2 games postponed.

Who would we sell in your opinion? Won't be o hare now and I get the impression hamer isn't as in demand as hoped. So does that mean losing vik at a cut price?

True the answer is efl board have to agree the postponements but Rotherham was outrageous. After the review on the pitch by the expert there was no way games would be on and boddy said this but no one believed him

I don't think it's a case of defending Boddy though is it, it's just apportioning the vast majority of blame at Wasps door rather than at Boddy's. I know that's not what people are trying to say, but it's certainly looks that way reading through on here.

I don't think anyone is blaming Boddy more than Wasps, so I don't know where you are getting that from.

People are just concerned that the club have been a bit poor in response to all this.

Also, a protest at Wasps is great, but let's hope we don't have posters from here sneaking in to watch the game this time.

yeah, after the inspection Saturday evening, which gave the impression it was borderline, yet we've had another 2 postponements, no way it was borderline, the club must have known the severity of the situation yet we've been strung along in a similar fashion for Wigan and now Huddersfield.

They didn't quite say that. So the pitch is now being partially replaced at a cost of six figures. I don't see where the club have said it's Wasps who are paying for it.

That's the impression you got though, rather than what was said.

Boddy literally said how bad it was, Wasps tried to make out it wasn't. (Their statement about the Bristol game).

It was said what the delay was about confirming the hudds game too, trying to get it sorted in time but just couldn't. So confirmed as off.

I'm not making myself clear, we've had 3 games called off, if the pitch is that bad then they must have known at least a couple of weeks ago.
The late Rotherham announcement would have been fine if it was a close run thing and Wigan was on, but the pitch must have been in a terrible state and I'm sure they knew it would be some time before it was playable, they clearly could have put people in the loop a lot quicker than they have.

Yes of course it was known. It was said how bad it was then.

The Rotherham inspection took place on the Saturday which is when the EFL people and officials went.

The club can't just decide when to call games off.

that's the impression I got because there was no clear statement from the club.
It's clear to me they could have called off all 3 games the 2nd weekend of the season. They'v e handled it poorly.

It was also said why they were hopeful to get it sorted by hudds. The equipment, agreement from wasps.

The club couldn't have called all 3 games off, it isn't down to them.

but even that could have been conveyed by the club. It's been periods of silence followed by ambiguity.
Even yesterday when everyone was expecting a statement, nothing was forthcoming, (I appreciate that was Streets fault).

Boddy said all this though.
Problem is its not in the club's power to call off games & when Wasps are trying to deny it's as serious as it is we're between a rock & a hard place.

Did the club say they were making a statement yesterday?

Yeah it says in the statement earlier about why the hudds announcement took a while.

People are moaning about communication but seem to have missed what has been said.
