No I’m saying it’s entirely true what’s odd is you don’t see the same nonsense Vaughan spouts is exactly the same as fisher has done for years and years. It’s on public record fishers quotes regarding new stadiums for a decade and it’s no more truthful than his comment, actually less as at least he spent some money on sand. Fisher didn’t even go through a charade of buying any land.

Buying land requires the land owner agreeing to sell. I have been in many large property deals that change or fail at the last hurdle. That's not what you are saying though is it

Well, call me old fashioned but I just want what's best for the team. And I'd expect decent owners to be the same.

Im saying Sisu have not and never have had any intention of buying land. Their history is to mislead, delay, lie and obfuscate

This is hardly a discovery - a world is not flat moment - most supporters would agree. Why this causes you such angst I have no idea.

I guess it all depends on what is actually contracted.

If they were contracted to change the pitch this summer and they just said they’re not doing it then they are still in breach.

Either way they will definitely be contracted to revise a surface worth playing on. This statement just says they knew they couldn’t do both but went ahead anyway.

If Wasps can prove their statement to be true then we will be on the end of some serious repercussions from the EFL

Not sure relaying the pitch is the major issue here. There was a promised increased spend on pitch maintenance and we’ve had to cancel our first home game.

Do we really think the ref inspecting the pitch cares if it’s a new pitch or not. The only thing of importance is it was deemed dangerous to play on.

I don’t think that’s the point behind their statement at all and it seems we didn’t even bother to get an inspection for tomorrow’s game. They are calling there own in for the next one - the last one seemed to say it wasn’t any good for league two which was a pretty strange remark

Once these type of public statements start getting thrown around then things are usually about to turn into an absolute shitfest. I predicted in January that we'd hit the ceiling and would come down hard this year but at no point did I expect it to all kick off because of Sandy Potholes (which by coincidence is also my Drag Queen name). Really feel for our fans, how many seasons have we had in the last 10 years that have been politics free? So weary from it.

I don't think so. It's not unreasonable to think we could host a football games a week after 7s tournament finished. As @theferret pointed out yesterday Ibrox hosted 7s days before this game and the pitch looked fine. Clearly not relaid either.

Obviously Wasps did not take due care of the pitch. Don't see how that is CCFC's problem.

Do you really think that if the pitch wasn't safe to play on Sunday it was a good idea to, instead of putting a plan in place to stage the game elsewhere, just cross our fingers and hope it miraculously sorted itself by tomorrow? You'd have been the first one complaining about Boddy if there had been a statement today saying the match might be off tomorrow because the pitch still isn't ready.

We were advised that a number of games should be played away from home at the start of the football season
This is nice and vague, how many? Tomorrow is a home draw in the cup, not a league game. And if they knew it wouldn't be playable why did they not insist it couldn't be used.

To me its pretty simple, if you hire a football stadium to stage a championship football match the absolutely minimum you can expect is a pitch that isn't ruled too dangerous to play on.

You'd be pissed off if you hired a 5 a side pitch and couldn't play because the pitch was dodgy, its totally unacceptable at this level.

They will not get the ST money until the game is played. The walk up money is going to be lost in the main

Not to mention the immediate £30k>£40k to play tomorrow in Burton

I cannot see Wasps paying any compensation based on what we know so far

Just need the EFL to confirm their involvement in why we couldn’t play the games away from home now, to see if we get fined

It will be a interesting few weeks to the transfer window closing and it’s already started

Well not really tbf as it's carefully selected form of words "we said we wouldn't be relaying the pitch [but we said instead we would...]"

Both sides trying to mislead

"Tomorrow’s Carabao Cup game was moved from the Arena without a further pitch inspection, which is the prerogative of the football club, but I hope they and the officials feel they are able to play next week’s home game here at the Arena"

This will be their defence if we try and bill them for the Burton Albion cost.

Unless the referee on Saturday suggested that it would still be unsafe to play the Bristol game also. I guess it entirely depends on the extent of the damage and how much work needs to be done - a matter which the club hasn't yet been clear on.

Wasps statement reads to me as deflection and ‘not my fault, Jack’.

Irrespective of informing CCFC of not relaying the pitch, we pay to *play* football at their stadium.

If I paid for a hotel room, the least I expect is a tidy clean bed. If it wasn’t then I wouldn’t stay there and would seek to be compensated. This to me is no different.

No mention from Wasps on the unpaid food and catering money they owe us. Something I'm sure will come out in the open in the coming weeks...

That game was 2 weeks after the final of the Rugby 7s, final on the 27th of July and that game on the 10th of August.

Regardless of that, it you watch the final of the 7s at Ibrox the pitch was perfect. Rangers could have played on it the next day.

It seems to be Boddy saying that the EFL wouldnt allow us to switch fixtures around and hasn't explained why. I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't given the circumstances, so are we sure that Boddy actually asked the question? I'm not!

Very interested to see if/how the club respond to this statement.

Then again, if they're the ones being less than truthful perhaps their silence will be more deafening.
