This is quite a slick move from all concerned, or our Carabao cup hopes would have gone for a burton

Posted on the match thread (from the club) but in case you missed it

Fans who no longer wish to attend the game or want a refund are required to visit the Ticket Office at the Coventry Building Society Arena to get a refund.

This must be done in person before 8pm on Tuesday 9th August, and you will need to bring your match ticket with you.

Was happy for them to keep my ticket money to hopefully tick the club over during this fiasco, but kind of shits over people who live away from Cov who need that money back.

I've heard it said by many seeking to blame the club that it was 'obvious' the pitch would be fucked after hosting the 7s and we should have known that.

For comparison, this it the ibrox pitch just days after the end of the 2014 CG where they hosted the 7s.

The issue wasn't the rugby, it's that it was played on a battered, patched-up surface that they could have replaced in the time window they had. They didn't and we're paying the price.

That is a fucking disgrace. I genuinely thought it would be £5 or £10 max.

It’s an absolutely shite situation, and the Burton one is random too - why Burton?!

But any blame being apportioned to SISU/the club/Boddy is nothing but agenda pushing.

Plenty to have a dig about, but control of a pitch in a stadium we don’t own is not one.

Talk of buying a ticket to check the pitch is ridiculous too. How bad a situation would that be; the only way for the CEO of the club who play at the pitch to check it is to buy a ticket, huh?!

The only blame is to be proactive and have a back up plan

It’s only £3 more and only £3 for under 16’s would imagine it will cost the club to host the game

It’s the price of the coach. Adult tickets are £13, so you’re looking at £34 if you want to attend a first round game in Burton

What? The coach travel is what i’m talking about - it’s £21. £5-£10 +£3 does not equal £21

If the coach is too expensive, James Raffell has just announced he’s doing a 10 quid all you can drink barge trip, leaving the canal basin at 8am tomorrow.
