Perhaps because these sort of tournaments happen all the time all around the world. Some hosted by much smaller clubs than Wasps and often as a preseason opener and pitches do not react as badly as that.
I’m so baffled as to why people still seem surprised that over 900 minutes of Rugby 7’s in a short space of time takes such a toll on the pitch.

It sounds like the CWG was already planned before we returned, so it was knew about and there had been an idea we’d play first 2-3 games away. Boddy said he was told we couldn’t do this. It sounds like everyone was crossing their fingers and hoping for the best tbh.
They are hardly greedy, it sounds very much like they are teetering on the brink of insolvency.
Just imagine if SISU were to withhold rent over the pitch debacle, that might be enough to finish them off
We don't want a partnership with Wasps, we want them to fuck off, let's keep everything crossed that they go under, and an Invester buys the stadium and buys SISU out.
Sutton United FC played their first 3 fixtures away last season. They were due to play Salford at home, 2nd game of the season but when it became clear their stadium wouldn't be ready following promotion from the Conference, they had to ask the EFL and Salford if the could reverse the fixture. It was a last minute thing as well from I remember.
