The global cannabis industry is lobbying pretty hard here now and the UK market is seen as desirable (we’re a bunch of stressed, sick pot heads!). I disagree, the UK is way behind other western countries with the progress made. There are still issues with children with extreme epilepsy having cannabis oil confiscated, despite the obvious benefit it provides to the child.

Time will tell I guess. 10 years ago even the current situation seemed like it would never happen. The problem at the moment is lack of evidence which is largely because not much research has been done because it’s been illegal everywhere and hard to get permission to study it. Now that more researchers are looking into it the evidence will follow eventually. For some things. Maybe.

The NHS is an evidence-based organisation and without the evidence doctors won’t prescribe it.
