Anyone been? Any tips for getting there and parking etc? Going to see Elbow tomorrow (Father's Day present).

The train is a no go. Impossible to get back until the next day (something like a 6 or 8 hour journey due to changes and waiting times etc).

So, it looks like driving is the only option. Looking at car parks close to the venue, it seems to be about £18 to park just for from 6pm -11pm.

Any tips would be helpful.

I've never been to a gig there but parking nearby is expensive. If you weren't bothered about a walk across Manchester to Piccadilly (or you could get a tram from Deansgate Castlefield if it is still running, should run til gone 11) I'd suggest looking at Store Street Car Park, it's behind Piccadilly station and is fairly cheap by Manchester terms: Manchester Store Street Car Park - NCP

Also worth looking at and a place I sometimes park, which will probably be a bit more convenient is Charles St (it belongs to the University or is within the university sort of campus). I think that's even cheaper than Store St.

Cheers. Couldn't get into Store Street. I found one in Peter's Street though. £4.80. That is apparently only 0.4 miles away.

Cheers for the suggestions.

Forecast is dry tomorrow. As the gig is outdoors, I am going to hope it stays that way.

Probably too late now but you can park at Sale Water park (just off the m60, J6 I believe) and get the Metrolink to deansgate castle field from there. Sale water park is the airport line so usually runs quite late.

Cheers for that. Will keep an eye out for it anyway in case we come back.
