Can't agree with the Morrison opinion HH, I thought his mentallity was to work his socks off tbh, just the body/age let him down near the end for us.
Stern John was extremely skillful and working back, closing down really wasn't his game.

Similar views, Morrison always worked hard but was lacking in quality in the end.

Both scored goals for us though.
But yeah 'lazy' (lacked enthusiasm) Wonder what that means.

I suppose at the top level you get both - (Suarez), but as you drop down a level or two, players will have a bit of one (finishing ability) or bit of the other (high work rate), but rarely both qualities (otherwise they play at the very top)

Yeah, I thought Morrison worked very hard too.

I'd welcome the signing.

He might be older and potentially lacking some fitness, but he's experienced and an actual target man! Maybe we won't lose possession from our own throw/goal kick anymore!

Him and Yakubu will also give the players a boost, both from an experience and status perspective.

Rotation of him and Yak alongside Beavon is actually quite exciting.

Leave it out. I'm trying to suggest people are quick to say black players are lazy.

Most players are lazy, you only have to run past some and they are having a lay down.
Don't even do 20 hours a week work. Play for 90 get 20 minutes tea break and their fucked.

Slade says he's looking at least 3 players this week in addition to Yakubu and Nasseri.

Russell Slade takes a look at new attacking targets as Yakubu edges closer to Sky Blues switch

Some of our best players were black Cyril, Dion, Gary Thomson, Dave Bennett, Lloyd, callum. Just to name a few of my all time favourites.

Stern John was technically very good, instinct and finish but he was definitely lazy! Now imagine Stern John technicals with Mifsuds energy and pace!

I think it was not the case.
Maybe that he played in the era where a transition from being a Striker (specialist position) allied with fixed formations, before evolving to become a headless chicken who's failed if they haven't covered 9 kilometres per match.

Sorry Hill, mate - hadn't read all the posts, so that bit swerved me (easily done!). Thought it was laziness relating to two particular players (colour hadn't crossed my mind).

Disagree completely. Rigid 4-4-2 formations back in the day still needed strikers to move, create space behind and for gaps between midfield/ forward line...Dwight Yorke for example was incredible at it

There is a difference between being a 'busy' striker using movement effectively and someone running 9KM.

For instance Dion Dublin, never ran miles and miles but never was or looked lazy. John was a match winner but I often became frustrated at his work rate.

Apparently made enquiries to get them on trial. Would make sense as he's after a winger. No idea if it will come off.

Is that the same Dublin I used to watch? Defending one second and scoring a goal up the other half the next.

This would be great if it happened, but I get the feeling it would be too late.
