me too. We simply couldn’t go in with Collins or Wilson

if we didn’t sign another player I would be content. It’s such a horrible market at the moment.

He did. Something about he was vocal back in Sweden but he was hesitating here. Although he spoke fluent English I think he was still thinking in Swedish.

I genuinely think that’s a fair point. If you’ve got to translate in your head before you shout, it’s got to be difficult.

His dad is British and most swedes speak perfect English anyway. Probably just confidence being in a new place rather than language issues.

I'm surrounded by several different European nationalities. Most Swedes, Dutch and Belgians speak very good English. They don't even need thought time after several beers.

The vocal part is exactly that. You need to be vocal in goal otherwise you end up going for the same ball or even both leaving it for each other. The GK has the best view of what's happening. When he started playing for us he wasn't the finished article. He still isn't. He had just turned 22 at the start of last season which is young for a GK. He will improve with experience. Maybe he just wasn't confident enough to start with.

In fairness to McNally, if Burnley didn’t play silly buggers. over the price he would have been back. They were demanding £6-8milion I remember. But LM was agreed to come otherwise.

Yes that’s kind of my point. What the player wants may not be the most important factor (until you reach a level like Gyökeres)

He's OK. I'm hoping he's one of those that will grow into the role as the season goes on and he can replicate the form shown at Swansea.

His decision making and general rationale can be a bit suspect at times. It took him 5-6 failed long pass attempts to Sakamoto yesterday to realise that it probably wasn't working which I thought was a bit bizarre.

Agreed. I think he’ll continue to improve as well as still very young for a keeper. From what I’ve seen so far maybe best we didn’t spend £5.5m on him though. We just haven’t got that sort of cash to just throw around. Still a fair bit better than Collins and Wilson though just hasn’t had the best start for us

Believe it or not - a guy in my block blamed Rushworth… but bizarre for me defending him given my concerns with him, but just thought the criticism was absurd

Moments before their goal he should’ve smothered and collected the ball. Instead he sort of dived into it and the ball was back in play. He’ll get better I’m sure but I think we dodged a massive bullet not paying that ridiculous fee for him.

Agreed, he's better than Collins but he's nowhere near a £5.5m goalie, he will do us a massive favour this season but we've dodged a bullet at that fee.

On current showing, if that £5.5m bid had been accepted, it would've been an awful piece of business.

Albeit, it's early days though and as mentioned, he could be one of those that needs a good run of games to show his worth.

Looks a good keeper to me. Not the same potential or current ability as Dovin. Agreed, not a 5.5m player but good as a back up to Dovin

Didn't think he could do too much for the goal thought Thomas's positioning was suspect and obviously MVE could have done more. Thought it was probably on of his better games since joining us.

I had been half expecting the ref to blow for a back pass on that anyway, but then he ended up without the ball.

I'm glad we have him for depth but I'm thankful that the bid was turned down. He's probably better than Wilson currently.

For the status around him and the figure mentioned, I had high expectations. I was hoping he would make saves that others couldn't, those special saves that make you go 'wow'.

He's doing fine and will do a job for us until Dovin gets back. Plus, he will get better so fingers crossed he's making superhero saves in no time.

He's a quality young keeper who is playing his first regualar football after a long time out.

I bet we have posts saying Dovin is no comparison to Rushworth when he comes back rusty.

He’s not passing the eye test so far but it’s early days. I was a bit surprised that he got beaten by a scuffed shot into the corner to be honest.

It was well placed. I think Thomas could have made a better effort to close it down myself.

My heart sank a few times when he chested the ball down from outside the box and had a feeling he was going to try and catch it

He's definitely better than Wilson and Collins. Good distribution, but looks a bit nervous. Will improve with game time imo

If it’s the one I’m thinking I believe the surface and ball were greasy with the rain and Rushworth got there before the onrushing Norwich player. Yes normally would have expected him to gather safely but conditions probably caused ball to squirm away.

Hasn't he played less than 10 competitive games in the list 2 seasons? If we stay off his back he should get sharper and more confident.

Think Thomas could have done more to stop the shot. The way the Norwich defenders were throwing their bodies on the line, I wish our defenders did the same. I feel Wolfy needs to replace BT in defence.

I think we should forget that we offered 5.5m for him and not hang that over his head, he’s a young keeper on loan building experience. He’ll do a job while Dovin gets back, and only 1 goal from open play, set plays can be pinned on other things than Ruhworth.
I like him but Dovin is better and if Oli comes back in the same form he was in pre-injury the number 1 is his all day
