Less talking, more walking!
Better suited to PR than captaincy in my opinion.

That's his job.... leading the team on it and off it. look at every other team captain, their the ones doing all the pr stuff, goes with the job. who do you think would do a better job from the team??? Personally no'one big enough in my opinion.

He doesn't lead the team on the pitch. Cant ever remember him having 2 decent games in a row.

Woody all day long.

Cant say i agree with this at all. Baker has improved massively since being given the captaincy. He is one of our better players and yeah may be slightly inconsistant but so is everyone else. Definately the best man for the job at the minute

he is our captain.and a good one at that

if last night had been a league game you would not see threads like this

so it all comes down to blaming the team for not overturning a 3 goal defeict

bad luck and back goalkeeper, thats why wer are out. it is that simple

Baker had a poor game last night but credit where it's due, he doesn't hide. He keeps trying to make things happen.
McSheffrey on the other hand....

Baker tries to make things happen, sometimes it doesn't come off. If only McSheff tried to create like him, he might actually play well.

I actually think Baker has been our most consistent player this season. Yes he has the odd stinker but so do most of our team, thats why they'releague one players. I sometimes wonder what our fans expect from the likes of Baker and Clarke, both are scoring goals and our most likely options of getting and creating them yet they seem to attract more criticism than others.

He wasn't carving players up like he was during our purple patch, but I don't know what you expect of him? These accusations that he doesn't put in effort or doesn't deserve the captaincy are ridiculous! Every player has a bad game - even Barcelona managed to lose last night and I don't see anyone making ott comments like this.

You haven't been reading their messageboards, translated roughly from the Spanish:

"El Panadero ees mucho bastardo, ees crossingo ees shite-o, captainos fantastico, my arse-o".

Baker was marked out of the game last night, as you may have noticed their left back also won man of the match.

My point exactly he was always doubled up with their player and sometimes 3 were at it. They knew our strengths and worked to nullify it, which they will do again on Saturday so for the enlighted Baker fans he will have another shit game on Saturday. We should be having a go at the players who must benefit in the space that is freed up because of the special treatment against Baker

gives 100% effort

good crosses 30%

gives ball away 50%

I hadnt seen any player until this season, gives effort, scores a few priceless goals, but way too inconsistant with his runs forward and crossing, we need cover at RM
someone who can get to the byline and get a decent cross in, when Bakers having an off game
shoving defenders up is not cover

shame bell got inured again

ETA... he is not a captain, way too quiet, I agree with the Woody call

So he has one bad game and should be dropped? Has 30 good games but then has a bad games so shouldn't be captain. Nice logic

Exactley - they had a game plan and it worked - thats why we resorted to the long ball because we couldn't murder them down the flanks like we did in the first leg.

Baker had a very poor game last night but has been one of our best players including 11 goals from wide midfield and an excellent captain all season.

Why is everyone looking for a scapegoat there were at least 9 of the 11 last night who performed below their standards.

Baker has been one of our best players this season. I think he has surprised a fair few City fans and it's really good that he has been amongst the goals for a change.

Baker has had the highest win rate of any Coventry captain (apparently).

Also when Baker was dropped and Wood came in against Brentford... We lost.

Really? Because I've seen faults picked with pretty much every one of our players this season. Not only that. Baker's been one of, if not our best, player this season! Form's dropped off a bit recently, but surely people can see that's because he's being targeted because he has done well?! As for the captain argument. He's my choice at the moment. The position of captain is overrated for importance.
