Next season wise, I’m excited obviously got to finish this one but if we don’t go up. Lampard has got the fourth highest points since his appointment.

Assuming he’ll be backed as Mark was so should be very interesting to see where we end up and if his style of play will diverge when he can bring in his own players.

Consistently being in the playoffs from the start of the season and actually looking like going up. If we play Sheff Utd in the semis we’ve got no chance of going up this season.

Said it before but we have if we get our tactics right, (we couldn't have got them more wrong at Brammall lane).

We were only 7 points from the playoffs mate when robins left , he did a good job mid season but its in danger of falling away as dramatically as last year .

10 points from our last 10 games if we lose , same as last season

He's 4th in the table since he was appointed. No one thinks we're better than 4th surely?
Robins had already lost at home to Swansea, Wednesday, Norwich and Derby, the season had barely got going. Lampard has only lost at home to Leeds and Burnley.
He's dealt pretty well with some bad injury issues, aside from maybe the keeper.
Ultimately saying it would be a failure just doesn't compute to me, disappointing yes, but he didn't shit the bed at the start of the season, he was recovering another managers mess.

This whole conversation is based on us losing anyway, personally I think we win then the above is undeniable. People laughed when King said 'top 6 deck' because they didn't want to accept a failure in management. Come Saturday afternoon it could be an actual fact.

Well he got us promoted first full season , then he got us promoted again and then he got us to the championship playoffs so he had plenty in the bank

But everyone said it was the poor start and the previous seasons finish so they'll be some goal post moving going on by the weird anti Robins crowd.
For the record, I'm happy with the job Lampards doing, my expectation if we don't go up is for him to have us around the play off places and fighting for top 6 and that was the same expectations I had of Robins and it will be the same for the next man.

You gave Robins time after being promoted from League 2 yet Lampards in a higher league & you're only giving him one season

You can break it down to any amount of games that suits though can't you. If we win Saturday no one will care about the last 10 and the general concensus will be that Lampard has done an incredible job. Not just within the club either.

Im curious as to what Burnley are paying Scott Parker compared to what we are paying Frank. Parker has a proven record of getting teams promoted, as does Farke. I like Frank. Its for curiosity only, especially as the other two names were employed when we wanted a manager

I would think he's done a good job - we were 17th when he joined - I only expected mid-table or a bit higher & even that would've been a bonus

I don't know if I'm anti Robins. I was openly one of the few that thought it was best he was moved on and fully stand by it. I think you yourself actually came to this conclusion eventually too.
I think there's already some post moving from the anti Lampard crowd as there's no way anyone expected us to be here come the end of the season.
I've said before if Lampard is backed in the summer and has a, let's call it, a Robins style start, he will also rightly be on thin ice.

We are finishing 6th in the league Bristol will win so it stays as it is for me. Then playoffs the home game will be important regardless but even more so as our away form has gone to pot recently

When Lampard took over we were looking like we were in a relegation battle. We were just 2 points out of the relegation places. With 1 game to go we're in 6th with a home game left and we've been strong at home.

So far this year at home we've won 9 and lost 2 out of 11. We've only lost to Leeds and Burnley who are a level above everyone else. I had doubts about Lampard taking over. But he turned our season around and changed the way we play. We would be doing even better without Dovin getting injured. He has also had to cope with our best players getting injured.

I'm expecting a better start to the season than we've got accustomed to but I won't be calling for his head if it doesn't happen.

There's a difference between doing a good job and progressing the club.
He's certainly done a great job and got the season back on track k but whether he progresses the club, time will tell.

I just don't think that if we don't go up he'll get us challenging for the autos, currently 31 points behind, finished 30 points behind last season. That's asking a manager for miracles.

Under Lampard, we’re 5 points off Sheff U and only 14-15 points from Burnley and Leeds. It’s not that far away and there’s a huge gap in budgets, comparatively.

Going into this season, there were pretty significant gaps in the squad that you’d assume will be built upon this summer. He came in off the back of the team underperforming, the bedding in period was the busiest section of the season and the team had several key players missing. We’ve been the 4th best team in this division since he took over and that is a significant achievement.

It hasn’t been perfect, our away form hasn’t been good enough, particularly against the bottom teams. However, there’s a strong foundation to build on going into next season.

The next progression is to consistently be Top 4 next season and compete in the playoffs again.

This season, even if we make the playoffs, my instinct is that it’s ’too soon’ for us. To remain optimistic, we can beat anyone at home in the playoff 1st leg and then winning a one off game at Wembley (if we get there) is doable.

In terms of points gained in the last 10, massively.
This isn't a dig at Lampard, I'm delighted with where we are despite thinking he's made some selection and tactical errors recently, he's a Chamionship manager, I except that happens.

Mire just shining a light on a few things.

I think there's a double standard the other way too, people call out the manager way quicker and make far less excuses than they did for Robins. Is the squad still not good enough like it wasn't for Robins, for example? It's the same squad except with a pile of injuries chucked on top too.
Not heard Dr Roberts mentioned for a while either.
You'll find double standard all over the shop ultimately, it's a forum full of batshit weirdos like you and I.
I guarantee you though, no double standard. If Lampard starts next season like Robins did this I'll be fuming, it was and would be again unacceptable. We need to see progress.

Generally there were some very dramatic people on here saying we were in a relationship battle when we were 7 points off 6th and all the stats had us as one of the best teams in the division that couldn't take its chances .

Thats neither here nor there

Under lampard weve had 3 periods

His initial period where before the good run we took 12 points from 9 games which was fine for a new man , then we proceeded to win 10 from the next 12 which was amazing and we got ourselves into an amazing spot .

We were left with 11 games where we had some very very favourable fixtures and instead of making it easy weve gone back to early lampard form and have picked up 13 points from 10 games.

The purple patch is not the norm

This response is to the wrong person btw , was supposed to be for @Lamps
