MvE’s worst game in a Cov shirt. Overall it was pretty dire, but I’m not sure any of it is terminal so much as a lack of confidence and in turn fluidity.
Bassette offered very little and should now be dropped for Simms but there is no point doing that unless Frank can get some confidence into him because without it there is no player who’s drop off is more extreme than his.
I don’t know how Dasilva is still in the team he is absolutely crap , it’s like watching a school boy being bullied every game , get rid in January FrankWorst home performance of the season by a mile.

What has happened, looks a totally different player compared to last season. Just going through the motions, offers absolutely nothing going forward and the tempo is so below what you would expect for the captain. Sets the tone for everyone else.
Touted as a premier league pick up the end of last year, be lucky to get a Lower half championship move if he continues like this.

Sakamoto 6 (vision and technique for the assist was excellent but faded second half)
Bassette 5 (good movement and endeavour but two good chances with his head squandered)

Consistently out of position. Panics unless he’s got 5 seconds to get the ball under control to do his little trick, and if the time isn’t there feeds the ball back into whoever passed it to him leaving them in trouble.

Binks and Thomas are left woefully exposed by their fullbacks, consistently. That is our problem at the back, rather than the centre halves themselves.
