With talk of a return to the Ricoh and with a new season just started plus the rumour of Pressley maybe going to Huddersfield,is tonights match irrelevant and a hindrance ?

A football club playing in one of the 4 comps that they are eligible for can never be irrelevant can it?

Tonight's game holds no interest for me other than hoping there's a decent protest.

The only good thing to come out of tonight with a win is a morale boost and more £££. It's never irrelevant.

This competition comes too early anyway in the season, plus you can pick up needless injuries too.

The £££ are irrelevant to the fans unless it's spent on players

No it's not irrelevant, it's an insult. Another insult.

By my reckoning this will be the 25th home game we've played in Northampton. 25 insults to the fans of the club representing the city of Coventry.

25 slaps in the face.

Methinks SKY reckoned on this match was going to be played at the Ricoh but if they did they got it badly wrong !

What would I rather win, tonight's game or would I rather of beat Bradford or beat Sheffield united Saturday?

Always league games for me.

A cup run would be of greater benefit than going out in the first round so it's an important game.

For a club to run it needs money. Regardless of whether it goes into the team or not. So either way it is not irrelevant. A win tonight and the club gets a payout. My point wasn't where it goes after that. The fact is, the club would receive it.

I just don't get it? Sisu lost the JR big time, so what are they doing still owning my club and running it at a loss, destroyed the fan base and have no ambition whatsoever of getting out of this league...
Why are they leeching the last few drops of blood out of my club?
It just doesn't make any moral or financial sense....

I went to away games last year but will be boycotting them this season whilst this bunch of crooks are in charge, in my eyes they should have pulled out all the stops to get this game played at the Ricoh tonight, there is just no excuse.

Of course it is of relevance! I'm a Coventry City fan; Coventry City are playing tonight so I want them to win.

Anyone who says otherwise is not a fan in my eyes.

Nothing to do with the fact we are playing a side that has just been relegated from the Premier League and a possible cupset?

Totally agree with you there. But like watching England in the World Cup in the pub,you start of the night in hope but end up staring down at an empty glass thinking is that it ?

No and a Coventry city game is always relevant to me and always want to win. Standard.

I'm just saying I would rather put out a youth team tonight and lose if it meant we had a better chance of putting out a stronger 11 to beat Sheffield united.

Totally and utterly irelevant. I will have it on in the background but wont be wasting 90 mins of my life watching it and its at Northampton which just makes my skin crawl and is embarrising, its like watching one of those cringe worthy moments in a film behind a pillow "tell me when its over".

At least a half empty Ricoh is pleasing on the eye instead of a half built ground with 500 (very quiet) home fans, you know its bad when you can hear the players shouting.

all games mean something ,even pre season as this is where a coach should working his best side .cup runs always a good thing with the chance of wembly and European footie . the experience of young players playing against top clubs is so good in building for the future .bet you robins looks back at leaving us ,knowing that all the talk had a impact on the home tie against crewe, what a difference a wembly trip could have made .

It is an irrelevance really. We're not going to win it and any money generated from it will just go towards keeping my club in Northampton.

Any competitive game that isn't a dead rubber is relevant. Whether it's important is another matter, as if we go out later as I'm prepared for it's a big meh, whereas losing the games either side is a shitter.
