They beat Watford yesterday at Vicarage road so will be confident.

We looked lost without EMC in attack. Away from home a draw will be decent. Can’t see us going there and beating them currently. Could be another Pompey debacle so we need to be disciplined.

Simms has to start. We need to play quick counter attacking football. Cheeky 2 - 0 away win if we do.

1-1 we have a terrible record away in Wales, would 100% take a point

I'd rest Sakamoto for this one, move Bassett out wide and bring Simms in. I'd even consider putting Lati right back and use Kitching to partner Thomas.
Midfield need to move more than they did against Millwall.
Anyway, an entertaining open game ending in 2-2

I agree with all of that though RB is a conundrum
Lati has been awful when he's played there in the past but I think MVE really needs a break.

See @curly_tom

He is bitter about robins going
Doesn't like lampard because he replaced him
Now is demanding immediate improvement or wants to brand the robins sacking a poor decision
And finnaly he sets a ridiculous criteria for success for lampard

Some of us can see through these posts.

Rudoni has to come back into the middle or else we lack all creativity. Much as it slightly sticks in the craw I would put BTA on the wing. I like Torp but he was quite ineffectual yesterday.

Surely it has to be Simms up front. If it isn't then we know something's afoot in the January window

Back 5 are just fine, which even allowing for the quality of the opposition we have faced is a small step forward

The immediate improvement agenda was set by hero to many on here, Doug King.

Its his fault people are demanding it.

Fortunately, when comes to football, I think the mans a fucking idiot and have much more realistic expectations

They’re third from bottom! Are there any games this season you expect us to win?

“ridiculous criteria for success” = winning football matches against teams worse than you

Only other option would be Eccles to RB or keep MVE at RB but rest Thomas for Kitching with Lati as the right sided CB for a better passer as a CB

Did think about Eccles there but I think Lampard might want to leave him alongside Sheaf.

Judging by some of the logic on here, it doesn't matter as long as we have more shots on target.

It's a tricky one about who to start up front.

If Simms is on his game he can hold it up and lay it off quickly to get us up the pitch quickly. If not then the ball is coming straight back at us.

No away wins are a given in this league. Is this your first season watching?

Although you wanted robins sacked after a home loss to Derby so I guess you are consistent in having high standards

Well tbf there has been an improvement ppg and we have climbed the table a little. People need to be realistic wether they like king or not.

Need to get Simms going again simple as. I like Bassette but Simms scored a lot of goals last year - which people seem to forget.

I have noticed us getting it into the box more since Lampard came in and I think he would thrive.

Well we've kept 2 clean sheets, which Im happy with because I said the first thing that needs sorting out is the defence.
But it's not about liking King or not, he's the one who came out with all the bullshit people keep quoting.

Unfortunately it will take a massive shift for Simms to get close to top form. He's so far away at the moment. Although the boost of starting may help.
I know it is not popular, but I would have Thomas-Asante as the front man and Bassette on the left. I think the latter is far more suitable for the wide birth, going by his natural runs and BTA's struggles. No defence is going to be comfortable with those two beavering around. Their keeper will not be overly worried though!
However, with their energy, it will be up to the others to make use of the pieces.
Apart from use from defending set pieces, I would honestly prefer starting Tavares over Simms at the moment.

Well people say what's said in an interview must be gospel, when it suits them.
I've consistently said people sometimes play to the gallery in interviews

But back to the elite coach comments, of course people are going to quote King.

King has made this rod for Lampards back, well its not really a rod, its just nonsense on a forum, but it's still bollocks he should have kept to himself.

See what you are saying though. Your still making it about those that believe king and those that don't. Wether you admit it or not it's an agenda that's all I'm saying. Tbf you are not letting it affect your posts on lampard but others most certainly are. "Well king said improvement so if he don't do it next game he's a failure" . It's idiotic irrespective of what king has come out with

I have left the robins asking behind. Judging just on lampard. And I've seen a solid start. I don't factor in other stuff. I don't care if king wants promotion this season or to avoid relegation. I'm just judging on what I've seen from lampard and the fact I'm in my forties and watched slot of footy I know that a manager needs time to bed in his tactics fully. So far so good for me.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't expect people to hold the owner accountable for things he said?

Elite level coach, top 6 deck, fitteset squad ever, arbitrary points totals by Christmas, he made all these comments.

I don't think expecting improvement is unreasonable, I do think it's unreasonable after a handful of games and injuries to 2 key players which is why I'll give Lampard a lot more time.

But King holds a lot of responsibility for the attitude of those that expect immediate returns.

Why? You have just said it clearly regarding injuries and short time as manager etc

Why are you defending people that ignore that to focus on owners words?

These are adults. They don't have to follow what the owner says

Let's just be honest. They hold him to account because it helps them stick the boot in because they WANT TOO
