Cant argue with the decision.
But this confirms he is Thorns first team choice.
I can't see him displacing Hussey at left back.
Which leaves centre mid. If Jenning signs, who would you drop out of Jennings, Barton, Thomas and Fleck

I personally think when Thomas comes back Thorn will give him the captaincy

Does'nt sound like it ,so kilbane intended to be everpresent this season. Can't see David Bell getting a kick this season. Can see him being paraded in the Fredddy manner as unfit overpaid and pushed to move on as I don't think he was in that list of players willing to take a wage hit.

to a kid? doubtfull

this is the right decision, kilbane seems to care about helping the youngsters whilst he is here and hes got much needed experience

------jennings-----
barton--------kilbane
-------fleck---------

looks likely and thomas to fight for barton/kilbanes spot every week

the armband will have to jump to vice captain quite alot i guess.

Thomas was captain for quite a few games in pre season. Young captains are not something to be overshadowed as Torres was captain at Athletico at 19. Viera captain at Cannes at 18, Jenas captain at Notts Forest at 18 and Ray Wilkins captained Chelsea at 18

Ahh i see Kilbane is set to be named captian for the season, my bad. http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/cov...46-31634844/2/

I can't see him being able to play sat-tues-sat week in week out, but he is the sensible choice although this shouldn't mean that he is undroppable.

This was a no-brainer for me. He's got more experience than all of our squad put together.

Captaincy is hardly a vital role in truth. Kilbane is the senior and most experienced player and it is fitting he should receive the honour, however I doubt very much he will play more than 25 matches so I imagine Thorn has a number of deputies on standby.

He was very poor on Tuesday, so sluggish and looked off the pace.

I'm sure he'll improve though.

When injuries and knocks kick in there will be plenty of rotation for midfield positions. There needs to be to keep everyone fresh.

For the first time Thorn has a selection headache for midfield when it's fully fit and will roberts and billy daniels could also feature.

I think we'll be surprised by how many games Kilbane plays. Apparently in training he has been the fittest one.

Bearing in mind, if Hussey gets injured or dropped at anypoint he will play a number of games at left back too.....

The way Hussey played the other night, I can see Kilbane possibly dropped there!

Really looking forward to seeing that midfiled four. Are we likely to see it on Saturday? Still must be question marks over all of their match fitness levels (Kilbane aside)?

I was led to believe that Barton and Fleck will both be fine for Saturday. Maybe one will start on the bench

Cant see Thorn playing 45 minute halves in a league game. Pre season is fine but competitive games arent.
