Does that coincide with the start of the school year? If so most of our first team will be tired after there first few days at "Big School"

Fleetwood have never participated in the League Cup and now they have been handed a big name in the shape of Nottingham Forest.

Last season's losing finalists Cardiff City begin their campaign at Northampton Town.

Indeed the match, as it will be for every team, will be the first match of the season as the league does not start until August 18 - but all ties will be played the week prior.

The Football League also confirmed that subject to approval, teams could play their matches on the weekend of August 12-13.

Draw in full

Derby County v Scunthorpe United

Rochdale v Barnsley

Port Vale v Burnley

Notts County v Bradford City

Hull City v Rotherham United

Fleetwood Town v Nottingham Forest

Carlisle United v Accrington Stanley

Doncaster Rovers v York City

Crewe Alexandra v Hartlepool United

Bury v Middlesbrough

Chesterfield v Tranmere Rovers

Sheffield United v Burton Albion

Blackpool v Morecambe

Leeds United v Shrewsbury Town

Preston North End v Huddersfield Town

Oldham Athletic v Sheffield Wednesday

Cheltenham Town v Milton Keynes Dons

Ipswich Town v Bristol Rovers

Stevenage v AFC Wimbledon

Exeter City v Crystal Palace

Yeovil Town v Colchester United

Birmingham City v Barnet

Bristol City v Gillingham

Northampton Town v Cardiff City

Plymouth Argyle v Portsmouth

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Aldershot Town

Walsall v Brentford

Millwall v Crawley Town

Torquay United v Leicester City

Dagenham & Redbridge v Coventry City

Peterborough United v Southend United

Swindon Town v Brighton & Hove Albion

Watford v Wycombe Wanderers

Charlton Athletic v Leyton Orient

Oxford United v AFC Bournemouth

Ties to be played week commencing 13th August 2012, however, if mutually agreed, The League will consider requests to play on Saturday 11th or Sunday 12th August 2012

Ooo D&R! Have Championship teams always been in the first round draw of this Cup?

Any chance of this being played on a Saturday? Heard a rumour that if both clubs agree it can be moved.

Got makes who live in Upminster, Romford and Dagenham so this would be perfect for a day and night on the lash!

I'm well placed to get to this game so i'll definately be going. I just bloody well can't wait for the season to kick off. As i've lived abroad for the last 9 years i'm gagging for the season to start, i'm counting the days down.
Being starved of Saturday matchdays for so long has been pretty awful, infact i've missed this much more than friends and family,(hope they don't see this), and to think i can start to watch the skyblues regularly again is so exciting.
Now the kids have grown up ,and one's even flown the nest,i have that majic phrase that most of us lose when we have kids, FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT, and i can pretty much go about my week in any way i want.Bloody fan-dabby-doozy.

Don't get too excited yet - I know for a fact that the FL are not allowed to stage any games in London during the Olympics, which may well prevent us from playing on the Saturday at Dagenham!!
