So we win and AT is a genius, but when we lose it is because of tiredness? This is where things need to be balanced.
He took off our only possible goal threat.... We were 2-1 down in a relegation 6 pointer and we didn't go at them. He should have had everybody filling the box, crosses were going in with just 2 players in the box....
Didnt go to match so hard to comment really on today. Maybe substitutions could have been sooner maybe Thomas or Bell should have been on the bench academic really if the passion and desire to go out and actually beat a poor team isnt there. Wouldnt blame him for the substitutions but surely he had some input as to how we set up for the match, surely he had some input in getting the squad mood right, surely he can gee his players up? etc. So yes he shares some of the responsibility.
Certainly SISU havent got it right but they dont play the game for the players we do have, or set the managers tactics etc and as a fan I expect passion and desire from the team and manager, I expect them to battle and get at the opposition, I expect them to attack (the squad is good enough to do all that its basics) - have seen that too few times from both this season. No, but SISU gamble on getting by with a squad containing 1 LB and 3 so-called strikers (none of which are proven at this level). When 2 of them are injured come the must win game and the only LB also injured during it, whose fault is that? You saying Thorn wanted a threadbare squad? It would have been a struggle anyway with 2 games in 3 days against a side that has the luxury of SIX changes: we had one option, to pick Gael or Deegan, both of whom are in terrible form. I'm sorry, gambling on a squad not good enough or big enough? That is 100% SISU's fault. Can't believe anyone would argue it isn't, we all know they are trying to run us on the cheap! And going down will cost more financially than a little bit of investment on 3 more bodies to give us a fighting chance would have.
Referring to the original OP no you cannot blame the manager for defeat today. Also since Christmas the club has performed over it's potential. So you have to credit the manager for that. However we are down because of the lamentable performances over the first half of the season. Also the two loanees have shown more passion and interest in our plight than many of our full time players. Thorn I think is probably a good manager to young players but lacks gravitas with senior professionals.

Which is something Marcus Hall alluded to on CWR. Said that perhaps Thorn is too friendly and soft and pally pally and that, that is fine with the young players who probably need an arm around the shoulder, but that sometimes senior players need a kick up the backside.
