Got lots to catch up on I am sure but would be grateful if someone could give me a bullet point update of whats been going on in the last 10 days. Went away on 26th with Hoffman bidding, no players to be sold and LeFondre being chased. Seems to have all changed!

Turner has been sold to Cardiff

Cody MacDonald has been signed

Sisu have written an open letter to the fans(worth reading)

The Hoffman bid was withdrawn due to confidentiality agreements being breached.

Big Sam is a director in one of the companies in the Hoff consortium.

And Scott Dann was sold for £6 million rising to £8 million and that was a major factor in us keeping hold of Juke and Clingan.

Disappointed to see Turner go ......... find it strange too, surely he had to pass medical but we were told he wasnt fit yet ?
Signing a striker is move in right direction - fingers crossed he can step up
How can you make a bid on behalf of someone and not know who was involved ? or that it broke the rules? doesnt seem very thorough or clever to be honest
Will read through the letter but somehow I just know I am not going to believer some of it

Apparently big Sam was out of work when the initial bid were made and would have resigned from the board had an offer been accepted

have read the Onye letter...........

So aside from being a little distant it is everybody elses fault. More smoke and mirrors. I think he and SISU need to take on board that some of us actually understand the accounts

Is a good thing that he tried to get their side of things across but not sure he has set the tone with it he wanted.

Bid WAS NOT withdrawn due to Sam Allardyce being a director-that's a complete red herring, he'd have resigned if the bid had progressed.

Bid fell through due to Dulieu naming investors and "someone" leaking a letter naming investors to the press. Seeing as the letter was to SISU, draw your own conclusions.

I fail to see the logic in trying to sign Parkin...... unless Juke was being lined up for sale. Parkin is just not a player I would even think of buying ...... cannot see how he would improve our team.

If he was part of the Turner deal then surely now he isnt means we get more for Turner than the £750K first quoted?

I think it was a case of £750k with Parkin, £700k without! Cardiff are obviously desperate to get rid of him seeing as he's now on loan and the CT were saying Thorn didn't want him. I don't think it was ever a goer, but it gives the tin foil hat brigade another conspiracy theory to post.

The Hoffman thing smells worse than week old rubbish. If an NDA was in place then Hoffman's group can sue SISU for breaking it, that hasn't happened, which suggests there wasn't an agreement in place. Allerdyce being involved doesn't add up, why not resign as soon as he got a job, or as soon as the bid was being formulated several weeks ago? Makes no sense to me.

We got stiffed on Turner's fee, but there's nothing fishy about the medical thing. He was back in training anyway and you don't have to be fit to pass a medical as others have stated. It's simply a doctor having a look over a player and if they think any issues will heal and there are no long term problems then everything is OK.

Yes, we would have sold other players without money coming in, but that's because we are losing a serious amount of money. If SISU lend us another say £6m, then that's £36m in debt and no better off. There's no shortcuts here guys, we need to increase revenue and cut costs or you'll see plenty more transfer windows like the last one. It's not asset stripping, it's keeping the club afloat.

His comments to the Boro fans on Twitter make it sound like he's keeping his options open! And as I really annoyingly said before, we were 30 mins away from flogging another vital player on deadline day. This one didn't make the media but was incredibly close-the team will be back in for him in Jan. And no, I can't say any more other than I bet his best mate tapped him up

How does Turners value go down if we dont take a Cardiff cast off ? Makes no sense we get £50k more to take on a player we dont want and add to overhead?

Hoffman & co would have to prove loss to get compensated for breach of confidentiallity contract which would be hard to do if Allardyce was still involved, very expensive and to be honest pointless

Think Turner will do well at another team - and we will have been proven a soft touch in this deal. He only played 72 games for us since 2005 so I can see a logic of cashing in on him to free up funds for other players. However the McDonald purchase should have been be able to be funded from the savings we have made, the Dann add ons and Gunnarrson sale so it doesnt necessarily stack up to me

People need to wake up however to the fact we need to sell players to survive. The Board have been clear on this - contrary to what some might think. They made the statement in the 2010 Directors report and going concern policy that player trading would help provide the future financial support the club requires - for once a clear statement from the board. A clear warning to the fans back in April 2011 of what to expect. January doesnt look very promising does it!

Welcome back mate hope your tan won't get you in trouble. People on here may think your name is Ken.

I can see a very good reason why a swap Turner - Parkin is worth more to Cardiff and worth less to Coventry ... weakly wage budget.
With Parkin on the books at say 7K/w that equals to >350K a year. More than he is worth if we tried to sell him next season if he hadn't played much due to him not fit into AT's system.

Now Cardiff is stuck with him and have to pay his wage unless a lower league club can afford paying his wage during a loan spell.

This is the stuff you're supposed to tell US - not the other way around!
Must have been one Hell of a vacation!

Parkin to Cardiff is kinda what Kyle was to us: stuck on big money with time on his contract and nowhere near the team. That's without the similarity in "playing style", as Aidy would probably call it.

I was not suprised by the content of the letter - nor by the timing. In broad terms it just about confirms what I have been saying all along - SISU left the business to be run by Ranson and the board - Ranson in the role of both chairman and CEO - and that this was a huge mistake.
It is also said that the new board has a new financial plan, that SISU is not looking to sell unless a completely unrealistic offer is put on the table and that new investors is sought to enable the buying into the ricoh revenue stream. SISU are looking for a joint venture - not an exit.

AT says he is very happy with the result of the transfer deadline activity and as many on here were positive Clingan and Juke would be off, I think we should be just as happy as AT.
The Sisu letter promises new signings when the loan window opens, and it will be interesting to see if they deliver.
I think there should be a fair amount of wage money available. The wages from Gunnar, Westie and King minus Cody should bottom line leave a few pounds for two midfielders.

How did Ranson even get to mismanage it so badly if he kept getting outvoted on the board? It seems to be scapegoating of the lowest order to me. They tried the "it's a new board, give Paul Ken and Lenny a chance, they're great blokes" PR fandango in the Spring and look where we are now. The letter and TV appearance by Igwe were just another attempt at that. Don't believe a word they say, their track record is one of constant misinformation.

As it says in the letter sisu tried to be 'normal' owners leaving the business to the board. The board establish a strategy confirmed by the investors/owners - then leave it to the CEO and the rest of the club to live up to the plan.
As the CEO was Ranson - HE had almost complete power.
Now sisu have made changes - we have a dedicated CEO and the chairman is more or less reduced to one who conduct board meetings 5-6 times a year (it's really NOT a problem he lives in Portugal).

Ranson claimed the owners overuled him, and refused to allow him to budget long term, just 1-3 months in advance. I simply don't believe the letter, and I do think having a fly-by-night tanned chairman is a problem, so we'll have to beg to differ.
