Wouldn't let Tudgay anywhere near the team now... sorry he has had his chance/chances and not taken them although god only knows who we could play in place of him not as though we have many strikers....wait a minute !!!!!

May as well play with ten if you are going to play Tudgay, after his last effort I would have released him

Think we will win this one 2-0......I'd like us to go 4-4-2 for this one and this is how I hope we line up.

RCC GK
Sterry RB
Page LB
Turnbull CB
Willis CB
Bigi CM
McCann CM
Jones RW
Reid LW
Sordell ST
Tudguy ST

Subs: Burge, Kelly-Evans, Stokes, Lameiras, G.Thomas, McBean, Ageyi

Not enough end product in those wingers.

I'd only play one of those two.

Just looking at the predicted starting XI really shows how poor recruitment was this summer.

Regardless, I think we'll win tomorrow. As it's on a Sunday, are we expecting an internet stream of the game?

What we don't want is Coconuts.......

"I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts" by Billy Cotton and his band is traditionally played at the Abbey Stadium at the end of every home game that Cambridge Utd win.

So NO COCONUTS.

Think Mccann is fit again - Stokes training too but maybe having him on bench for this one a bit optimistic.....if it is does anyone know if Rose still out injured?

I agree. And I'd rather Thomas or mcbean get a run out ahead of Tudguy. And if we are going to play 2 wingers with the view to get crosses in the box, I'd rather give right footed Spence a run right side and then Reid, Jones and Lamieres can fight it out for the left hand side. That would bring balance.

I would think having been out so long, Stokes will need to get 2-3 u21 games under his belt before getting near the first team.

1-1 draw back to ours for victory with people who should be starters but don't get in the first 11 having a good game

That would conveniently coincide with the transfer window.

They said he was out on the grass months ago. I reckon they're gearing up to sell him in January to be honest.

Would be an incredibly stupid time to do that.
1) we need him to stay up
2) You are selling him at his lowest stock. Sell him in the summer after he has a half season under his belt and helps us stay up he earns you more money both ways

Of course it would be, but you're forgetting this is sisu we are talking about.

Point 1 & 2 aren't things they'll be concerned of if they can get a snap offer quick time. Previously we've been known to lose our best players in desperate times, or even important times. Now the owners are openly saying 'we might have to sell in January.'

All I'm saying is that I think we should prepare for the worst in January. The Stokes situation has been weird, and I think he'll be one of the first on the list should players be sold.

Well, a bag of lollies now, or fuck all in the summer.

Either way, our survival is more important than anything else, to everyone and anyone, probably other than sisu.

Burge
Sterry Willis Turnbull Page
McCann Bigi Vlad
Rose Sordell Reid

Would be my starting 11! McCann has been massively missed and as he's only here until 31st December we need to get the most out of him in the next few weeks!

If thats not the team Venus is going mental trying to make it work for Wright or Agyie...... McBean is ahead of them imo

Still think we need to get out there and kick the shit out of them, make it a battle.

We need to get Robbie Savage in to take training on how to be a prick on the pitch and play a bit of that.

Any Cambridge pubs selected yet? Devonshire Arms and Kingston Arms seem on way to ground and look real ale'y.

Have you seen the size of some of the Cambridge players Nick. I think that defender Leon Legge at 6' 4", other defenders Roberts and Taylor who are 6 foot plus and centre forward Uche Ikpeazu a 6' 3" would take a lot of kicking.

I just can't see us winning this one (or many others for that matter, currently) absolute best scenario - a draw then 3rd rd draw made - Camb/Cov away to Arsenal/Chelsea/L'pool/Manure and that still won't motivate them to settle the tie at Ricoh.
I was at the Abbey Stadium nigh on 25 yrs ago for the 3rd Rd replay when I witnessed DD's awful penalty which produced an awful 'save' from Oggy which led to an awful follow up from DD following the awful save from the awful initial kick.
Then, from the misty gloom came a booming voice, you know - the sort of booming voice that carries a hidden message (In this instance the hidden message was "I will not make you all suffer an extra 30 minutes of this dire shite".)
"F$*@in 'ave this! I've gotta get back to go over an assault course". Boomed Lee Hurst before lashing 'home'.
I won't be going today, I'm painting the living room ceiling instead.

Could do with avoiding a replay as its been said these sort of games lose us money at the Ricoh. Expect we'll go with the best side we can, we aren't good enough to be resting players.
Will be a tough game but hopefully we'll sneak it.

Haha, you've summed up the 1992 penalty well there! But I'm heading back there today...for revenge!!! I must say, I don't remember us having a shot 25 yrs ago, so surely it can't be as bad today... Nice day for it anyway

Yeah, no worries. It was printed in one of those Q & A sessions on the official. I think Fisher said something like 'we are open to selling some of the playing staff if we need to balance'.

Have a dig through, it's there somewhere.

Budge, willis, Turnbull, harries, page, bigi, ghadzev, maycock, lamiares, mcbean, sordell.

Subs: RCC,McCann, rose, Jones, Reid, Agyei, Tudguy

Presuming willis is playing right back in a 433? Unless bigis playing right wingback in a 343?

Not sure what else Thomas has to do to get on the bench.
