We deserved to win today. By far the better team. The only player I'm not convinced by is Vincenti; particularly playing out on the left. I'd like to see DKE given more of a run out. Looks sharp. Jones is having a tremendous season. A threat every time he's on the ball. Beavon was good again today despite his critics. I think he's more effective playing off Nazon in a slightly withdrawn role. Disappointing first goal to concede. We'll be way above Cambridge by the end of the season. An unlucky day. Onto next week.

Reckon we'll play worse this season and win, quite frankly. There was a lot to like about the performance (though I accept that ultimately it's the result that matters.)

Hate to say it but I would probably give Vincenti a spell. I know he had two reasonable games against Port Vale and Carlisle, but he offered absolutely nothing today, other than being painfully ponderous on the ball. I know Devon Kelly-Evans is only a tiny child, but I at least think if he'd come into the game earlier, we would have had pace down both flanks. Ah well.

16 shots on goal, was it?

Give Ponti a go, MR. The boy is a clinical and intelligent finisher.

Disappointing result, considering how many chances we had. Oh well.

I think he was indicating he was. If it was cramp perhaps Robins thoughts were run it off.

Second half we gave it a go. Creating chances which is better than a few weeks ago.

Away on holiday so listened on the live feed. How we haven't got something today is frustrating but I heard our traveling fans giving the lads encouragement at the end in contrast to the game at Chesterfield where we actually got a point but some fans were booing
Cambridge were hanging on at the end - all a bit different to last year in the cup

three hard games coming up now, needed to win today, can't see us getting more than 3 points from next 3

What difference does that make?

The stat still stands and it's like it must be mental now when it comes to away games.

The stat of last season makes a difference because we were so much second best in so many League's One games, while in League Two we are clearly holding our own in matches.

We keep doing that, that stat should be turned on its head.

Exeter will have a 12 point advantage on us if they beat us next week.

Tough game

At home next week so fancy our chances against Exeter. Should really be winning any game at home.

Swindon away is winnable, and anything but a win against Crewe at home would be hugely disappointing. Could easily get 7 to 9 points from those games.

Exeter are a better side than us, our away form is terrible and Crewe always beat us.

I highly doubt that. We should be winning games like that really if we want to compete. We were unlucky today. Shit happens.

the problem with replacing him with KE is that we lose a lot of height when defending corners and free kicks.

We were very good second half. By a way the best I have seen us going forward.

Jones literally ran rings round their defence and the Duck was outstanding.

Vincenti still frustrates me, but I disagree with the fans cheering when he was taken off. His ball for the goal was very good, but he causes problems for Stokes defensively as he just cannot track back. The problem is we have no one else to play out there.

Away form isn't that terrible. Won 1, drawn 1, lost 2.

Needs to improve but there are teams with worse records and its way too soon to look at patterns.

won 1 thanks to a terrible mistake, drew against 10 man bottom of the league and lost the other two, one of which against a team that had conceded 14 goals in 3 games but still kept a clean sheet against us....

notts county result an outlier, results on opening days often meaningless. all our other wins all against terrible sides.

8 games in and by far the best result has been Notts county at home, performance wise by what i'm hearing its been very hit or miss. Its still early but i thought at the start of the season top 10 is realistic and top 6 would be put down as very good season. We have assembled a decent squad but lack up top which really would make a difference in some of these games. Long season a head but all round nothing to get down on the team so far in regards to the playing side.

However i think the bigger problem is the time lines set for all the off field saga, which will effect all. We have off field issues that will not go away and until they are sorted, any on field progression will be stunted by these off field issues. If the worst starts to happen with a run of loses or indifferent results on the field could in conjunction with the club structure make it very hard to see the club fall further on a downward spiral to which end nobody knows. So some good, bad and ugly in regards to on field and sadly very ugly off it. If these two things do not come into line, problems long term will be here no matter of result within this division. Still right end of the table with games we are competitive in is a good sign for what could be ahead on the field. As for off it a big fat mess which we are all sick of and all wish it would go away with the owners that have brought it to our door.

We did the double over Crewe the last season we met with an aggregate score of 8-2.

I am all for holding Ponticelli back but Robins may as well play him because Beavons not scoring either, doubt it would happen though

How can you have an outlier in a sample of two?

"Crewe always beat us" = Crewe beat us at the Ricoh in the JPT semi. Ignore that two of our biggest ever away wins have been against them

Were you at Grimsby? We were by far the better team, was hardly down to a mistake. If you are going to say that was only down to a mistake then you can say the same about the defeat to Yeovil.

Why should we be winning games like that?
If we are not at our best I fear the worst they play to the last kick scored 3 today scored in the dying minutes in the last game are on plus 10 already.

Robins

Didn't deserve to lose

Reaction from supporters tells a story

Result unjust

Two goals where they've climbed higher

On top second half for large portions

Amount of chances created stands us in good stead

Created lots for ourselves and starting to look like a unit that will create

Have to take on chin and bounce back

Basically they've worked on putting balls into two big difficult strikes

Bitter pill to swallow

Theyve worked and got goals

Could have been 4-2 to us

Duck should have scored his second chance

No luck what so ever

Worked the ball well

Never going to be a knee jerk reaction for next game

No need for one

We are so close to cracking it away from home

Need to work a touch harder and smarter to crack it

Only talking dropping too deep and sat in little bit

Fine margins

Little bit of desire, little more effort

Davies has sickness bug; everyone be careful out there
