He was a very good defender. But unfortunately his best games were here. When really his best games should have been ahead of him. Went to very good clubs but never got near fulfilling his potential.

His attitude was all wrong, thought he had made it before he had. I must stress his potential was huge when he left us.

Could have been a top talent. Remember reading that he had a horrific attack on him that ended his already dwindling career (unless I’ve imagined it!)

He got stabbed in both hamstrings by his sister's boyfriend. Unsurprisingly was never the same again.

One of his first appearances was in the first and ever relegated home game at HR vs Bradford. He looked quality then though and had perhaps been kept out of the side for too long. Assumed at the time he would have been destined for greater things?

Went around starting on randoms when he was a youth player telling people he was a big time footballer and could get them shanked if he wanted.

Sounds like he said it to the wrong guy.

That match where he was made captain the same night his transfer to West Ham was confirmed was utterly fucking bizarre

He regularly beat his sister up and that’s what caused the assault

Do you know this as fact? I know things turned out badly for him but it doesn't tie in with the lad I occasionally saw in the Wyken Club during his time with us. Granted I can't say I knew him well but he certainly didn't seem the type at that time to give it the big I am.

As for Grendel's post, I was told that his sister's partner was a bit of a gangster which caused a big rift in their family, and led to the incident with his sister as well as the incident where he was stabbed. All very tragic really.

I know for a fact that he said that because I was there and he said it to my mate. He clearly thought he was a badass at 17 or whatever it was. It doesn’t surprise me that he hung about in circles that got him stabbed from that interaction.

A man is jailed for six years for repeatedly stabbing Premier League footballer Calum Davenport in the legs.

it seems he was also thrown out of a non league club for threatening and violent behaviour. He’s an utter wanker

Allegedly he attacked his own sister and knocked her about really badly, that's supposedly why her boyfriend sought revenge and stabbed him in both legs!

Davenport was later arrested for the attack on his sister, but eventually cleared in court.
But was arrested again a few years later for attacking a footballer after a non league game.

Apparently he's always been a right c**t.

We sold him to Tottenham he loaned him straight to West Ham.

He then scored against us for West Ham but we won 2-1 think Doyle scored a free kick if I remember right.

Yeah that was it.

It was Norwich the next season he scored for against us.
