Looking to cancel his contract at West Ham apparently.

Despite his poor injury record he’d definitely be a welcome addition back at the City.

2 year contract take us up and one year in the Premiership?

Only stumbling block would be wages.

Thoughts?

1 year deal with an option to extend by a year pay as you play

Doubt he would want to come. Imagine he’ll go and get a big pay day in Saudi or one of the parachute teams

No thanks.

Past his best, seemingly injured regularly.

This isnt even a rumour let alone a confirmed link to City that requires its own thread …

You seriously think we can get through this season by only signing one striker?

So, it's not worked out for him at West Ham,

so what makes you think that us having him on a 2 year contract, where he would (probably) be at the same level where he cant cut it now, but would also be another year older, would be a good idea?

He has been one of West Ham's better players, they will replace other strikers.

West Ham's biggest problem is conceding goals which raises questions about defenders and midfield players.

I doubt Wilson will leave West Ham in January and if he does he won't be coming here.

Surely he'll get a Prem move on a contract til the end of the season.

Everton would be logical, based on the crap 2 strikers they have.

Am I the only one who finds the hankering for ex players embarrassing? CW is 100% not what we need to get us promoted

I'm not sure how I'd react to us having a striker that can actually control a football, its been so long.

Even if it was plausible the risks of him getting injured again would be too great

On the Newcastle documentary, I think it was that a yway, he says he doesn't come back to Coventry much and it doesn't feel like home anymore.

From what some other posters have said, he was lucky to escape when he did and from tbe crowd he was bought up around.

I'm not sure it's the romantic homecoming for him, that ot would be for us fans.

6 month pay as you play. Then he can go off to the Middle East for a bumper pay day.

but like other have said he will walk in to some other prem teams. So why would he come. Unless he is desperate to see us promoted

Why though?

He's not cut for the prem anymore. No prem club would take him. Zero

That then leaves the options of a lucrative move abroad. Which he may be against (young family, kids etc)

So then his only other option is championship? Of which (form aside) we're (according to the table) the best team in.

Players often want local security at this stage in careers.
A 6 month offer with a 12 month extension if promoted would suit all parties tbh

He has flopped for the worse prem team behind the worst prem team in history (wolves)

He is not walking into any other prem team

West Ham fans don't think he has flopped at all. Their fingers point in a different direction for their problems.

Who knows what Doug’s reasoning was behind not signing Bamford or what Frank was promised if we waited till January. I’m really intrigued to see how January goes now, we’ve gotta really go for it
