Welbeck's injury (looked horrible) probably makes it more likely he'll actually get some minutes. I hope he makes the most of the chance, he deserves it after the injuries etc and reading the BBC article it seems he had a pretty rough start in life too. Seems like a decent lad.

Shame for Welbeck who gets alot of stick, but in reality, it's great for Wilson's chances of getting a game for England, and also potentially great news for CCFC's finances...double bubble

I don't think an England cap will increase his value much. If he scores for England, that will do it.
It also depends on how injury-prone he turns out to be.

Has to be nonsense. Less than 1% increase for an international apprearance? It’ll be £250k minimum.

Edit: unless we sold a portion of the add-on to carry us through one of our rougher spells a few years ago?

There might be a larger fee for a number of caps, 1 cap helps but 5 or 10 caps will really increase player value.

Why is it nonsense? I don't think anybody really thought he would go on to play for England after leaving us after one full season in league one, so presumably it was just a token amount added on to the deal.

We'll get much more when Maddison plays for England as that would have been a much more relevant and important part of the deal.

From what people close to the Academy at the time, they seemed to think it would be more than this once he played for England. Minimum 6 figure fee, but they may have been wrong and this was the season he was sold I heard this, so anything could have changed.
