Coventry City's Callum Wilson has been nominated for the SkyBet League One Player of the Month award for March.

The Sky Blues striker has had a blistering month, scoring seven goals in March, including a match-winning brace against Crewe Alexandra at the weekend.

Wilson has made 35 appearances in all competitions for City, scoring 22 goals, with all but one of them coming in League One, which makes him the League's top goal-scorer.

Good luck Callum!

The nominees for the SkyBet League One Player of the Month are:-

Michael Doyle (Sheffield United) — midfielder

The United captain provided an almost impregnable shield to a defence which kept six clean sheets during March. He protected the back four with numerous blocks and tackles, and was outstanding at Preston North End and Crawley Town.

Ronan Murray (Notts County) — striker

The Irishman’s return to the line-up triggered an upturn in Notts County’s fortunes and sparked a scoring surge from the 22-year-old with five goals in four starts. His directness had defenders back-pedalling while his finishing was equally forthright.

James Tavernier (Rotherham United) — full-back

The pacy Newcastle United loanee has been outstanding in both defence and attack. Contributed to five clean sheets in his six matches and scored three goals — two stunning free-kicks and a 30-yard pile-driver against Bristol City.

Callum Wilson (Coventry City) — striker

The 22-year-old’s poise in front of goal continues to amaze in his first season of League football. He has assumed sole responsibility up front since Leon Clarke left. Scored in five straight games, notching seven goals in total.

He's actually got better since his injury which for a young player is extremely rare. He is going to be a superstar.

I'd go for Michael Doyle. Every team needs a Michael Doyle

Nah, obviously a Connor Thomas. I was laughed at when I said Doyle would be a better option at the minute than Thomas.

No reason why Wilson shouldn't win it though.

Have you seen some of the vitriol aimed at Doyle on the Sheff Utd message boards this season - way worse than the stick he's had from City fans!

I'd agree with that. Especially when you add that without Clarke he's had to shoulder more responsibility. He's got the right attributes to go further. I just hope it's with us.
