of course if wilson is not sold they will just wait for the next rumour.

We understand Dutch striker Lars Veldwijk has arrived in England for talks with Nottingham Forest as they hope to clinch a double deal for the Excelsior hit-man and Matty Fryatt.

Nothing unusual here selling our better players but the big difference is how or whether the money is reinvested. Post Leon's departure Waggot & co were unable to provide adequate replacements rory wouldn't come Chuba preferred youth team, the Fonz was disappointing, Eccleston - I think Bernie would have had a bigger impact.

Add to that Manset & Slager it shows when you are after a striker at the bottom end of the market you have to be very lucky and Waggot's luck ran out.

I think if Callum goes he may be joined by a fair few others

Let's hope Callum money pays for return to Ricoh.

Could this be the prelude to SISU upping anchor and pissing off. I know they are doing all they can to get atleast £600k for Christie rather than a tribunal fee. If they have ideas of frigging off getting as much dosh for your saleable assets as soon as possible makes sense

Let's hope Callum money is enough for SISU to leave.

The worrying part of their statement is "today". What about tomorrow etc.

If they were intending to maximise the revenue before departing.... Do a rental deal at the Rioch, and sell lots of season tickets to relieved punters. Oh, and create a separate company to sign the Ricoh rental deal. Such a trick might work again.

if our crowds were mid timmys optimistic suggestion say 5k instead of 1.5k

thats an additional say £1m of revenue over the season (being optimistic with the pie money)

so if sisu are really backing us - sell wilson for £3.5 - take £1m out to cover tim being a plank, and then invest the other 2.5m ( 2 year contracts to a new squad - would double our wage budget over night)

But of course we know that wont happen

Yes you forgot the administration fee of £2.5M!!!

Obviously he has to be sold to pay for lawyers and all CCC's fees incurred during the JR !!!

Sadly this move is inevitable whether it be forest or Bournmouth or whoever. The best we can hope for is to get as much money for him as possible, the £3M quoted was a little high (albeit not complaining) but i reckon we would only see £1M plus add on's anyway such as if he scores 20 goals for England we get a £1M or something as unrealistic!

The biggest question is how much will we see of any of this money, which i agree with most in that would be jack.

It makes sense to get as much cash as possible for your assets, whether you're pissing off or not!

Brentford built over a couple of seasons, the likes of Donaldson, trotta (2 season loan spells), Forshaw, etc.

And this dude had invested £15.2m in 7 months

What is happening is this £90 odd million minimum cash handout for being in the Premiership is powerful bait and a lot of clubs outside will gamble to get in like never before

O.5m, 3m or 10m it doesn't matter! I highly doubt ccfc would see any tangible reinvestment in new players (of decent quality) or towards a share in the Ricoh. We're better off keeping Callum. The only positive for a sale was if it was the final fire sale by SISU before waving goodbye imo.

The majority of these articles all seem to link to one another, one media article posts a rumour and suddenly it's in 5 papers all referring to each other rather than checking themselves. I think it's very likely he is going to be sold weather thats today im not sure but reporting on this sort of stuff seems to be very poor with very little fact checking.

Sounds like the CET have actually checked those facts now though and are about to tell us if its really true, wouldn't it be better if they'd done that before the posting of the previous article?

Well yes but that's not going to sell as many papers/get as many hits on the internet.

Disappointed if true but understandable if it really is 3 million.

Does anyone have faith in SP to pick suitable replacements?

EDIT: Just seen the post saying it isn't true, point still stands

It's really not a high quality league imo, look at what Leyton Orient/Rotherham did last year. That wasn't just a run of form like Yeovil, Tranmere did last season. They smashed it for the majority of the season.

my piss take remains just fine thank you and they weren't my facts, I was fully aware this may not be true due to the fact all of the news reports seemed to link to one another, which you can see from another post of mine in this thread before the rumor was debunked.

The way things are going make it look exceptionally likely that wilson will be sold this summer so I'm perfectly happy to stand behind the piss take. Surely you can see the writing on the wall yourself? you surely don't still think the chance of him leaving is minute?

Yeah let's face it, he's off.

However... does any club employee ever say anything other than a player's going nowhere... at the very moment he's packing his bags?

Such is the way of the world.

Your piss take is inaccurate just as you are Noggin, if you want to take the piss feel free too.. If Callum leaves but as of this moment he is still contracted to CCFC which makes him still our player..

Do I still believe that the chance of keeping Callum is the same? Nothing has changed has it? There is your answer..
