No one’s paying that for hamer. By then he’s nearing 30 with one season left on his contract.

All the stuff about him leaving on a free etc would be forgotten by 95% of fans if he re-signed, and I'm sure he'd make all the right noises in the press and interviews. His wages would more likely be the stumbling block.

Burt he would fill a position in our squad we're lacking. Would I play him ahead of Rudoni, or even Torp, at the moment. No. But we haven't got a player who can move up the field with the ball at his feet, drawing fouls etc. Those kinds of players are extremely useful in breaking down teams sitting back, and we still struggle to do that to some extent.

So using him in that manner of the bench when we're struggling to beat those teams would be useful. Maybe he might come in for Torp, or possibly Rudoni, when they need a rest. So I think he'd still get a decent amount of minutes assuming FL

O’Hare himself was better when he signed permanently for us than when he was on loan.

Gary Bannister was a better player than the youth who left us.

Lee Carsley wasn’t better but was still out stand out midfielder in those awful league one times.

If he takes a pay cut I’d have him back for £2m but we can’t pay him what he’s on otherwise we’d have done that before (and without a £2m fee !). Would be a great squad addition but also doubt he’d want to come if he wasn’t confident of regular first team place

Hughes was abysmal for Hull yesterday too.

Maybe all 3 have been unsettled by imminent transfers.
