I can certainly see why we'd look at him, fits the model well.

Little skeptical of the source though refers to Wigan as "cash strapped" & therefore likely to sell, I'm pretty sure that's not the case after the takeover. If Wigan get relegated then maybe that changes.

He’s a sky reporter normally not far off the mark

I would take him better than Bakayoko and Max

Pretty sure he's a freelancer rehashing a story from elsewhere.
Either way though, would be happy enough if it is true, can definitely see him fitting the bill.

One goal every three matches mainly for Wigan and Motherwell.
Not sure hes what we need if we want to improve in the championship

Wigan's new board includes Mal Brannigan, who you might recall was on the board of CCFC when SISU took over.

He's young, we'll be looking at what he can be rather than what he is. We're never going to get the finished article, unless its a particularly bad article.

8 in 18 in a Relegation threatened League One team this season. A lot of those have come from playing in wider roles too rather than as an out & out striker. Still just 22 years old.

You're not likely to get a proven, prolific Championship scorer on our budget. Not saying this rumour is true but this is exactly the type of player we'll be looking for.

Think we was linked with him and his team mate Kyle Joseph back in January. Can’t see Wigan selling anyone to us though they hate us.

His stats must stack up well.

Why do they hate you? Surely not all Barnsley fans are like you?

Something to do with a tense pie making contest in the 70s. Bitter rivalry ever since.

Yes he was. Pre SISU , he was one of the Paul Fletcher era “Operation Premiership” junta.

Unless someone at your club did their accounts I'm not sure how they can blame you.

So Barnsley played all their games under the name "Wigan" and failed to pick up the required number of points to keep the football club known as 'Wigan' in the division?

They appealed against their points deduction, we sent a club representative and a solicitor to the hearing to make sure the spineless bottle jobs known as the EFL weren’t hoodwinked into reducing or rescinding their decision. Apparently that’s the only reason they went down.

First of what will be many transfer rumours wait and see what happens when clubs release their non retain lists, someone like Lang will command a fee so I’d put that one out of our minds.

Why? We've paid transfer fees for players a few seasons running now.

Would currently put you 6th in the top scorers list and comfortably in the top ten.

Because we have little money, no out going transfers this summer to subsidise, but I hope I’m wrong.

We paid 500k for Chaplin 2 years ago and 750k last year for Godden, this year we paid over a million for Hamer, around a million for Walker and we’re about to pay 750k for Sheaf.

We did but all those fees came on the back of large incoming fees from Maddison, McNulty, Chaplin, Bayliss, McCallum add the kick back from the Callum Wilson transfer to Newcastle, thats about ten million all in maybe more don’t think there will be much if any incoming fees this summer.
