When we first signed him we were told it was nothing to do with the Keogh deal.

Now Robins has said this:

I know Nigel Clough rates him and was a little bit loath to let us have him for the season but he did that because of the Richard Keogh deal. That’s our gain so we’ve got to utilise him in the best way

It always seems like one person says one thing, then somebody says the other.

I think thorn was trying to imply that we wanted him anyway, rather than derby throwing us a bone.

It was two separate contracts Nick but one relied on the other.

Derby couldn't have Keogh if we couldn't have Ball.

It's as simple as that really.

Not like city fans to judge a player after not seeing him or one or two appearances !!!

I understand that Thorn wanted Ball on a permanent deal and wanted to have Ball in the Keogh deal, I THINK a straight swap, I think Thorn said it himself.

That didn't work seeing as keogh was sold and Ball was loaned.

In negotiations, that was what we wanted, and obviously Derby didn't want to let Ball go out permanently, so a loan was a compromise.
