That is very likely with the run in we have November and December. If that is the case Will Thorn still be the right man then?

Someone has to look for a positive I suppose. Take our record so far, throwing games that we have in the bag i.e. Palace and the pool and do you realistically see us being 10 points from safety at Xmas?

Didn't think so!

EDIT by Xmas we could be top of the league, but that aint gonna happen either.

Anyone who went has said it was woeful and everyone on here have backed that up. They couldn;t have all been pissed. This was against a Barnsley team who had injures themselves and playing youngsters.

1 win in 10 is poor. If we scored that or if we didnt concded is irrelevant. The league table says different and thats what matters.

We were a shower of shite on Saturday (and I was stone-cold sober)

At home we play fairly well... away we need a complete rethink!

If we played shite and we keep dropping points, how do you expect us to be nearing safety by xmas? What points tally do you estimate us needing to be safe, because you can't have it very high?

Nott'm Forest defeat (New manager syndrome)
Leeds defeat
Burnley draw
Doncaster draw (Massive game)
Millwall win (Massive game)
Southampton defeat
West Ham defeat
Brighton defeat
Cardiff defeat

that will leave us roughly with about 13 - 15 points by xmas. It is a possiblity

Right I get you now, you think we will be 10 points behind the team that is 4th from bottom at xmas?

10 points from safety is not the same as 10 points adrift at xmas . I agree with you. I thought you were trying to somehow be optimistic.

Monday morning, head still not programmed.

I wish we could be optimistic but what is there to be optimistic about?

I honestly can't think off any.

We have 11 people to field each match. I was going to say men, but that's wrong. I was going to say players, but that's wrong too. So I stick with people.

Well, I'm not going to predict individual results of all those games because football is never so simplistic as that. But hand on heart I can only see us winning 3 of those matches tops. Surely the most optimistic of us can't see us doing much more than that.

Nott'm Forest
Leeds
Burnley
Doncaster
Millwall
Southampton
West Ham
Brighton
Cardiff

And I see Bristol City have just parted company with their manager, so expect perhaps a change of fortune with them (new manager syndrome). Going to get really tough and i think we are all desperately trying to find three worse teams than ourselves.

Usually for the likes of ourselves there is some kind of light at the end of the tunnel with stuff like "just wait until we get all our injured players back" and "as soon as we get those couple of new signings we seek our fortunes will improve." Well, we all know we can forget that. This is it. We are stuck with what we have got and it's not going to be good enough to get us through the season.

Dunn

Keogh Cranie Cameron Christie

Clingan

Baker/Thomas Deegan Bigi

Cody Juke

I would like to see Bigi pushing forward more because i hear he has a decent shot on him, i feel thorn tells him to play too deep.

Nott'm Forest
Leeds
Burnley
Doncaster
Millwall
Southampton
West Ham
Brighton
Cardiff

Could actually cause a few problems with teams just expecting to turn up and beat us on the other hand they could turn up and hit us for 6. With the teams around us freshening up their staff, i could see us being stuck at the bottom of the league by ourselves by christmas.

So the teams struggling at the bottom will improve without fail? The same players that are shite now will get better for them, however our players will all stay crap will they?

Call yourselves city fans!! Fuck me you lot are so negative i can understand why AT and the lads are losing heart.

IMO Brighton's bubble has burst, peterboro, donny and forest will continue to struggle...we may do too. However, i believe Cody will get match fit and will score, he is rested beacuse WE all want him to score every game from the off, he aint ready. Deegan is back and the others will feed off him and get better, more urgent and start to look like they want the ball again. Juke will benefit from Cody and clingan will re-find his form. The 2 week break will settle the back 4 and WE WILL scrape a win against a very poor forest team. Millwall, Forest, donny, brighton and burnley are all winnable. We may pick up some draws. But i do believe it will get better, the youngsters are shell shocked and need this gap. AT will encourage them and i think we will see a better mentality come Saturday week.

Wish I had your optimism too.

Why will Forest continue to struggle may i ask? They have some very good players. While Brighton may not get within the top 6, they should at least be able to hold their own this season. Peterborough and Doncaster, yes I agree, think they may well continue to struggle.

It's all well and fine talking about Juke doing this and Cody doing that and Deegan coming good and Clingan re-finding his form etc, but do honestly believe we are going to go through the entire season without at least one of these players sustaining an injury?

My point exactly Otis....you don't think Forest will continue to struggle they have decent players, but so do we!! Clingan, Juke, sheffers, keogh, cranie. All are good when they perform. We are no different than anyone else that is struggling at the minute but city fans right us off and no one else. Forest have no devine right to be good or succesfull, what i have seen they are poor. Brighton i will agree to disagree, i think they will slide.

Cody has looked poor so far. His vision seems to be poor. The amount of headed Flick on's Juke put into the right areas vs Blackpool was unbelievable, I may be wrong but I don't think CM got onto the end of any of them. You don't need tip top fitness to stand just onwards of Juke now do you. Juke can't get much better he is having to work so hard with little support.

Cody didn't play against Blackpool did he? Against Reading I thought he was getting into much better positions. I remember at least 2 infront of the Telegraph stand where he read one of Juke's flick on's really well and just headed over. I think he'll vastly improve, but he needs games. Wecould do with Eastwood back, much as I hate to say it. Against Watford he looked better than our other strikers, even when he was a mopy, unfit, pillock

We are only 10 points off 5th. With a bit more luck we will pick up more points than we have so far. Our next 5 games could give us a decent amount of points. We need to sort out our away form. We have taken at least a point off all the teams in the top 7 we have played.

To cut it all into a few words, improve away and turn home draws into wins.

Sorry, Smiley, but you are missing the point entirely. Forest have a much, much bigger squad than us. Have been banging on about this until I am blue in the face. Forest get injuries they have a big enough squad to bring adequate replacements in. We lose Clingan or Juke or Cranie and Keogh and we are fooked.

We do have some decent players, just not enough of them.

Forest won't struggle I am convinced of that. They nearly went up last season. Their problem has been McLaren. He has now gone.

Otis, i do understand, but that big squad has and is struggling...Mclaren or not they should be better than that. We can improve as can they, that is all i meant. of course no one can judge on injuries/suspensions. But my whole OP was that our support are convinced we will not get better when all around us the others will!! very negative.
