Proud of the team at the minute and what a month, unbeaten, I remember people saying the next 3 games will show us and everyone where we are at and whether or not our start to the season is a bit of a smoke screen or potential promotion winning squad. Well 7 points out of 9 and unbeaten. I'm not getting carried away but play offs are achievable for us now. Well done to SP, potentially the best manager we have had outside the premier league. I say potentially because its still early days of his time here but the fans are proud again. Players shining, youth, pace and goals and now steadily, clean sheets. The new fergie? haha, Just need to sort the bullshit off field and we are rocking again. On these results easily 20k at the ricoh would be on the cards if we were there. PUSB.

Yes, it would be interesting to see what the Ricoh attendances would be when the team is in their current form.
I would suggest 15,000 at the moment but approaching 18-20000 if we were in a play off place.
Sadly this is something we'll never get to know but also wonder how many are likely to crack and attend Sixfields.

Why ? Results couldn't get any better. And in case you'd forgotten, we want the boys back home where they belong.

For you, maybe. When you say 'we' ....who exactly do you refer to?

But with Coventry City's actual fans, it would be most unlikely....

agreed, it's becoming massively boring. Great win today, unbeaten October, who would have thought that at the beginning of the month.
Well played lads, proud to be a skyblue tonight.

I would like to add some context.

Lowest ever league position in my lifetime, bar first few weeks of this season.

Lowest ever league attendances ever in my lifetime. I'm 50.

Not playing in my birth city.

Even my daughter saying last night, it used to be nice visiting my nan and you going to football daddy.

Do I feel proud of being a Sky Blues fan? Sad but very truthful assessment, is a massive NO.

Why not premiership?

It's a premiership size city. Population and recent history prove that.

If you are lacking ambition it's unlikely you will achieve much.

I started this thread stating I was proud of the team, not the club. Are you not proud to be following the team at the minute?

Born in 1963, sky blues in level 3.That season high in the table not promoted.

Next season promoted.

Three years later promoted from level 2 to level 1.

34 years in top level.

Relegated in 2001 to level 2.

Relegated to level 3 in 2012.

Terrible start to 2012/13, very low in table as initially lower than ever in my lifetime.

2013/14, very low in table, lower than ever in my lifetime.

What am I forgetting?

Facts certainly is not one if them.

We have more points and are in a higher position compared to this point last season, so we're obviously not in the lowest league position in your life time.

If you want to argue over very insignificant points differentials between the early months of 2012/13 and 2013/14 that's up to you if you feel that way inclined.

I take the broader historical perspective of someone older than 1 year old.

From a modern history perspective, the worst in my lifetime.

From a more down to earth perspective, it's close to bring embarrassing being s Sky Blues supporter.

Anyone when it's been worst than this since 1963?

You shouldn't feel embarrassed, no club has a divine right to be a PL club, we are where we are.

I don't question your Sky Blues credentials and totally understand your happiness for results gained under unprecedented
circumstances.

It's just that my club just does not feel like my club anymore.

As for the team, I felt numb watching them at Port Vale. It just didn't matter, what matters is the club future.

What we must NEVER forget, the fans are the club not SUSU or anyone else. So whatever SISU do we must remember that.

The big shock to me though was how much the fans were split at that game re offfield issues.
Totally dumb founded how some quite happy playing in a different location with 1k plus crowds.

This thread has been hi jacked by the doom and gloomers. If im correct we would be 4th abd title contenders so hardly the worst in your lifetime.

We have gained more points than the league table suggests remember

Totally agree no team has a devine right to play at at whatever level.

Nothing to be proud off though is it ? My commens were triggered from proud to be a Sky Blues fan
From a modern historical perspective this is the worst ever multiplied by about 100 by playing outside Coventry.

No club had a devine right to play at in their own city?

It does not seem that way.

Proud of the team

Still the butt of all jokes of rival fans, due to the actions of SISU.

Most rival fans and the footballing world think we are skint.

Latest joke is that we collected the coins after the wolves game for the club.

So I see your point.

Ok I'll come clean, I don't remember 1963 to 1967 between nothing and 3.5 years. I do remember 1968 until now.
Still think we were higher from Jan 1st 1963 until the present day, although I wasn't at the 63 to 68 games. Pretty sure from my birth date we were ALWAYs higher than we are now. Pretty sure we played in Coventry too, maybe got that wrong.

yep agreed. I'll always be proud to be skyblue whatever happens to our club, whoever the owners are or whatever league position we're in. Some people just like to whinge like a bunch of queens, tonight for 1 night, is not a night for whinging, its a night to be proud of our young team, who against all the odds are making a big fight of this season.
PUSB always

Yes they are all very sympathetic.
After they have had their banter (which I don't blame them for)

Also they are usually quite surprised when they discover that it is not because we don't have a penny to rub together.

Nether-less I understand what this chap is saying you can be proud of the team but not be particularly proud of the situation the club are in

I'm missing something , maybe to being either a 1 year old or some 50 year old Alzheimer's maybe.

What's so good about being in level 3 with no home ground ?

I don't think many fans of teams with top level expectations/demands would feel that way.

All credit to some young players showing what can be achieved with skill and application, but does it make me feel proud as a skybluesfan tonight on October 26th/27th 2013? No, this season is the worst ever in my lifetime.

Very True, but this was thread about how well Pressley and the boys are doing. No need to go down this negative path, there are hundreds of other threads on that.
