It could well be a bluff and posturing, but then you have to wonder what CRFC will get out of it?

Do they want something off Wasps / The Council too?

Are the council looking into the promises made but CRFC haven't heard anything about yet after they used that as a seller?

Just for all of you to "Mull over" I have also stated if SISU build a Stadium within the "City Boundaries" It would show "Intent". Therefore I would more than likely attend Home games again..... That's "IF"

Why are people moaning about the stadium not being big enough at 15k.. It's more like then big enough for the lets be honest hardcore 9k here are some average attendance stats over the years :

15/16 - 12,570 (best we have been for good few years)
14/15 - 9,331
13/14 2,348 - shitfields
12/13 - 10,948
11/12 15,188 - championship football

So 15k would be fine untill first season in championship then look to expand on the 2nd season of demand was there !

All it would mean is people would have to book few weeks in advance to get a ticket suites me !!!

Are you not going until SISU go then? Or is it just based on location?

I live on the South Coast and go when I can (albeit, not often).

Strange post...

First time we have seen an external party (Cov Rugby) and the club (CCFC) state they are having conversations.

Interesting times I would say.

Now I'm with the 'council have played a shameful part in our demise camp' but I really think that the rugby club are getting delusions of grandeur here. At present they have a good deal with CCC on the BPA and with funding can expand their own facility and build the club back up to Championship standard at least sometime soon.
This is all smoke and mirrors again from SISU I'm sure. It's no coincidence that this comes after another court defeat and just before [ After the early bird ST sales I guess } they launch JR2 against both the CCC and their landlords. They are banking on CCC ruling against letting them play at the BPA and adding weight to their legal argument that the CCC is bias against them. All they want is victory in court, they couldn't give a shit about victory on a football pitch ! If we are not careful we will be playing at Rushden and Diamonds after all !
The biggest losers here could be CRFC who will trash their own relationship with CCC, although I guess they are also peeved with the sale to Wasps !!

Haha, Maton has blocked me on twitter!

Only pointed out the stadium was built before the old folks home and there's 8K parking spaces, buses and trains to the city centre and then when he complained it would be too noisy asked if he was planning to block Godiva Fest and Ricoh concerts.

Guess when you can't answer the question easier to block.

I thought nobody went to the city centre anymore, now there's not a spare space to be had out of 8,000?

BTW, i only did a quick sum of car parks with 15 mins walk of the Butts, I wouldn't count any of those as being too far away. In any case how often are all 3K parking spaces at the Ricoh sold out? And that's a ground that is pretty much inaccessible by public transport.

Very strange post, considering you never read posts either properly, or look back(Research what posters have said in the past.) I have indeed said if SISU showed "Proper intent" I would consider going to games again. Have a look back at my posts..... Oh, but you don't do things like that do you?

They're firming up stadium plans, the city council want to work with them to firm them up.

Why aren't you pleased?

All very nice but I assume he isn't doing the business plan for CCFC? That's one of the first things we need to see if we're going to get behind this. My other concern is that Jon Sharp seems to have the say on what does and doesn't happen in regards to the development. Is it going to be built as a Rugby ground for a club with aspirations of premier league Rugby or a football ground for a club with aspirations for the premier league? Just how much are SISU in the driving seat regarding the development? It doesn't sound much at all. We could end up with a not too dissimilar situation than we're in with Wasps but only in an inferior ground with ticket revenue cut short because of capacity, or lack thereof.

We need to see some plans, we need to know how this works, if it works. I for one am not going to blindly and silently walk my club into a situation where I have no idea what the benefits are if there are indeed any at all. Why would I?

I am happy to move to the Butts, but am greatly worried about the capacity available. They say it could be expanded as much as 25,000, but that in reality it will be much lower in order to incorporate the other things needed.

As has been said by many posters on many occasions, we will get well over 20,000 for big games (even in League One) and if you look at the trend for any club with any ambition whatsoever, it is to increase capacity not decrease it.

We can come down to 25,000 I reckon, but nothing less than that. The Ricoh is just too big, so we are in a position to come down slightly, but certainly not to halve it.

I think if we have much less than 25,000 it is only a short term fix, unless we are happy to just be hovering around League One and possibly into the Championship til hell freezes over.

Clubs are looking to expand their stadiums, not significantly lower their attendance level and we know we CAN attract big crowds.

25,000 minimum is required.

But as ever, we're getting bogged down in finances, whereas the cultural benefits are a no-brainer.

Yes, I think they are being done over. They have been reeled into this by a hedge fund about to launch more legal action and desperate for another 'Sixfields'. Jon Sharp as I say is suffering with delusions of Grandeur and if he's not careful will wreck what CRFC do have. This will all be a legal nightmare again, something SISU revel in. If City did move in I can see a bunch of temporary seating stands erected and capacity raising to circa 7500 whilst all the wrangling continues. The final scenario when SISU finally run out of legal arguments will be removal of temporary arrangements, CCFC blown their bridges with Wasps and homeless and CRFC having muddied their relationship with CCC !
